Below is a roundup of just some of the projects to keep an eye on as we dive into the new year! 👀⬇️ The Monroe Streetscape project in Greektown is transforming one of Detroit's most historic corridors into a safer, more pedestrian-forward public space with work continuing through summer 2026. 🇬🇷 The Gordie Howe International Bridge is expected to open as soon as early 2026, creating a new Detroit–Windsor crossing designed to support regional connectivity with six lanes and a toll-free multi-use path for pedestrians and cyclists. 🌉 The Joe Louis Greenway, a planned 27.5-mile loop of public trails and greenways connecting Detroit neighborhoods and parks continues to take shape. In October 2025, a new 2.3-mile segment opened with the Grand River and Oakman trailhead and a statue honoring Joe Louis.
