Ankit Agarwal, Craig DeWitt, and Mike Jones from #Skyfire presented on "KYA Pay: A Protocol to Share Agentic Identity & Payment Credentials" at W3C CCG. The discussion addressed the need for standardized identification to distinguish legitimate agents from bots. #KYA Pay proposes using #JWT tokens to bundle verified identity and payment data, allowing agents to bypass blocking and operate autonomously. Demos illustrated use cases for website navigation, #MCP servers, and various payment systems, emphasizing interoperability with #W3C standards. • Today, Experian announced Agent Trust, a trust framework for AI-driven commerce. Skyfire's open Know Your Agent (KYA) protocol is the identity and payment layer at the core. Cloudflare is enforcing verification at the network edge. The architecture: - Skyfire's KYA protocol issues signed JWTs with verified identity and payment claims for each agent - Experian's Human-to-Agent Binding enriches those claims against its consumer identity data and issues a real-time trust score - Cloudflare validates the trust signals at the network edge, before requests reach the merchant's origin Three layers, open standards between them, each company operating where it has the deepest expertise. For developers: if your agent framework can attach a header to an HTTP request, you can integrate. For merchants: you can now distinguish a verified agent acting on behalf of a real, authorized consumer from the automated traffic your bot management currently blocks indiscriminately. Our co-founder Craig DeWitt's full write-up on the architecture: https://lnkd.in/gwQbpKnw Start building: skyfire.xyz

  • New in American Banker from our CEO Amir Sarhangi. The payments industry is moving faster on agent acceptance than on agent identity. Visa, Mastercard, Google, OpenAI, PayPal and others have all shipped agentic commerce products in the past six months. The checkout mechanics are getting solved. The prior question is not. How does a merchant or a bank verify the agent itself before the transaction begins? Traditional fraud signals don't survive contact with AI agents. No meaningful IP address. No device fingerprint. No behavioral biometrics. Visa already documented a 25% rise in malicious bot-initiated transactions over six months, and dark web discussion of agent exploitation jumped more than 450% in the same window. Issuers carry the liability. They also have the leverage. The banks that help define how Know Your Agent works (via KYAPay) will capture the interchange. The ones that wait will watch the volume route around them. Read Amir's full argument: https://lnkd.in/gWkUYpai

Today we’re launching the Sequentum Checkout Agent: the first checkout agent built for real, enterprise-scale, trusted transactions – in partnership with Skyfire. Most checkout agents in the market today don't actually work at enterprise scale. They get blocked by anti-fraud systems, fail under the complexity of real checkout flows, and are built on visual inspection that can look at a page but can't truly interact with it. The result is prototypes being sold as products. Sequentum is different. Eighteen years of battle-tested browser automation, engineered to interact with websites exactly the way a careful human operator does. SOC 2 Type 2 accredited. Full audit trails on every transaction. Option to store video recording of every checkout, for anti-fraud and compliance purposes. Human-in-the-loop controls built into the platform. Federated identities via Okta, Google, and Microsoft. We built this infrastructure long before agentic commerce was a category, and it's exactly what powers our Checkout Agent today. The Skyfire integration completes the trust stack. Every transaction carries a cryptographically signed KYA (Know Your Agent) token – verified enterprise, verified agent, verified end user. No exposed credentials. Full accountability. The kind of audit trail a CFO and risk team can actually work with. The Checkout Agent works on any merchant site, right now. No custom integration required. No waiting for new protocols. See the full press release - linked in the comments... And sign up below to see our CEO Sarah McKenna and Skyfire Co-Founder Craig Dewitt do a live demo on May 6!

Sequentum Checkout Agent: Live Demo, with Skyfire On May 6th, our CEO Sarah McKenna and Skyfire Founder Craig DeWitt are going live to demo the new Sequentum Checkout Agent in action, in partnership with Skyfire: an AI agent completing a real purchase, from a real merchant, on the open web – inside a fully auditable SOC 2 Type 2 environment. Not a concept. Not a controlled demo environment. A live transaction, with full identity verification, a complete audit trail, and no human clicking anything. We'll walk through how it works, why the trust and identity layer matters, and what it actually takes for an enterprise risk team to say yes to agentic commerce. Click "attend" below to get a reminder when the livestream starts right here on LinkedIn on Wednesday, May 6 at 11am ET!

  • Launching today: Skyfire + Sequentum for trusted agentic commerce on the open web. Sequentum's new Checkout Agent now uses Skyfire KYA tokens to prove identity to merchants on every transaction. Enterprise platform, agent, and end user are all verified. Every action logged. SOC 2 Type 2 from end to end. No corporate card exposure. No shared credentials. No waiting for merchants to rearchitect their websites around a new protocol. Craig DeWitt wrote up the full architecture and why we think the browser, not a future API standard, is the integration layer that unlocks agentic commerce at enterprise scale. For 30 years, merchant security has been built around one goal: keep bots out. AI agents break that assumption — and merchant fraud systems can't tell the difference between a scalper and a customer's AI assistant. The agents that make it through? The ones carrying verified credentials. We're partnering with Skyfire to make that the default. Skyfire's Know Your Agent (KYA) is now the identity layer underneath Rye's Universal Checkout API. → KYA gives agents a cryptographically signed identity chain — tying the traffic, the agent instance, and the human principal together → Already recognized natively by F5 Distributed Cloud Bot Defense (80%+ of the Fortune Global 500) → Developers integrate Rye. One SDK. Verified identity attached at the merchant edge automatically. → Both layers running in production today. Not a roadmap. Identity gets the agent past the door. Universal Checkout completes the purchase. Full stack, single integration. https://lnkd.in/gBVjcFbH

  • Agentic commerce is three problems, not one. Identity. Payments. Checkout execution. Pull any one out and the loop breaks. An agent with a verified identity and no execution layer is a trusted visitor stuck on page two of checkout. An execution layer without identity is a session that dies at the WAF before it ever sees the cart. Skyfire and Rye just closed that loop. KYA rides along with every Rye Universal Checkout request. The merchant edge verifies it. Universal Checkout completes the purchase with tokenized payment and per-agent spend controls. One integration. Thousands of merchants. • Skyfire partner Akamai Technologies just published new research that puts hard numbers on what we've been building toward. Their State of the Internet report on AI bots and publishing found that media companies saw the second-highest AI bot activity of any industry in H2 2025. Publishing alone accounted for 40% of AI bot traffic within media. And the report makes a critical distinction: while training crawlers dominate by volume, AI fetchers are causing the most immediate revenue damage because content like breaking news loses its value the moment it's scraped. The data reinforces what we hear from every enterprise we talk to. The default response to agent traffic right now is to block everything. But Akamai's own research shows that's leaving money on the table. One of their customers switched from blocking to tarpiting AI bot requests and was able to control 97% of that traffic while evaluating how to monetize it. That's the shift we built Skyfire for. The report's Security Spotlight section features Skyfire's Know Your Agent protocol as a practical solution for publishers who want to stop choosing between blocking all AI traffic and accepting unpaid scraping. When Akamai identifies an AI bot, the bot is directed to register with Skyfire, generate a KYA token, and include it in subsequent requests. Akamai validates the token at the edge. Skyfire handles payment processing. The publisher gets paid. Identity verification. Payment enforcement. No backend re-architecture required. Verified agent identity that turns anonymous automation into accountable, monetizable commerce.
