  • 🇯🇵 Bringing Japan to TopoExport 🌸 Japanese geospatial data is on another level, both in richness and precision! It’s been a fascinating pipeline to integrate it into TopoExport.   • 🌿 2.1 BILLION HEDGEROWS mapped and ready to use across France thanks to IGN HD LiDAR 🚀 Easily create a digital vegetation twin of France: TREES + HEDGEROWS on TopoExport.com! After georeferencing 3.7 billion individual trees using IGN HD LiDAR data, we extended this work by automatically generating 2.1 billion hedgerows from the mapping of the average vegetation layer. Why map the average vegetation layer? Bushes, hedgerows, and bocage landscapes are essential for our territories: 🐸 Biodiversity reservoirs; 🐾 Ecological corridors; 🌾 Soil and wind protection; 💧 Water regulation; 🌍 Carbon storage and a key rural landscape indicator. How the data appears on TopoExport: 2D mapping (GIS & CAD): - Ground projection layer of the average vegetation layer (0.5 to 2 m), crucial for understanding ecological continuities; - Automatic generation of hedgerow axes to facilitate corridor analysis; - Precise canopy footprint, useful for shading and green network planning. 3D modeling (CAD & BIM): - Hedgerow axes projected onto the DEM; - Procedural generation of 3D hedgerows with automatic height adaptation based on HD LiDAR data.   • 🚀 Mass Nationwide LoD2 deployment in 2026 : 5 European countries (🇩🇪, 🇨🇭, 🇱🇺, 🇳🇱, 🇪🇪) already imported in TopoExport! LoD2 buildings are essential to the construction and renovation ecosystem. Why this data is a game changer: ☀️ More accurate solar and shading analysis; 🏙️ Support for architectural, urban, and landscape planning; ⚡ Finer estimation of energy needs and performance; 🌱 More reliable input for environmental and regulatory studies. Next step: designing a nationwide LoD2 dataset for France using IGN HD LiDAR.   • 🌳 3.7 BILLION TREES mapped and ready for use across France using IGN HD LiDAR 🚀 For several months, we have been working on the automated detection and mapping of individual trees based on IGN HD LiDAR data. We have just finalized the production of our first nationwide dataset 🌍 For each tree, we now provide: 📍 Accurate XYZ position ; 🌿 Precise 2D canopy footprint (to be released soon) ; 📏 Relative canopy height ; ⭕ Canopy diameter ; Concrete use cases for tree data: 🌡️ Mapping and mitigation of urban heat islands ; 🌱 Smart management of natural resources ; 🌍 Carbon sequestration assessment ; 🏙️ Support for architectural, urban, and landscape planning ; Access this new vegetation dataset today: 👉 On TopoExport.com: formats available DXF, PDF, SVG, IFC, OBJ and STL ; 👉 Via our API: formats available GeoJSON, glTF and GLB ; We will continue to improve this dataset to further enhance its accuracy.   • We are moving closer to an on-demand automatic generation system for digital twins powered by HD LiDAR 🤠 🎯 Our objective: In the coming weeks, we aim to deliver vegetation and building datasets reaching a high level of fidelity compared to the real conditions of French territories. Our work is based on GIS synthesis of multiple layers derived from IGN HD LiDAR data. 🌳 INDIVIDUAL TREES: From LiDAR point clouds, we are now able to automatically reconstruct individual trees in 3D. Each tree is unique and modeled with variable parameters: 📏 Canopy height ; ⭕ Canopy diameter ; 🌿 Trunk width ; 🫧 Adjustable number of points and facets to match all levels of detail (LoD). 🏗️ BUILDINGS LoD2: Using 2D building footprints combined with LiDAR data, we automatically generate 3D buildings with roof modeling. Thanks to semantic attributes, we distinguish: 🧱 Wall modeling ; 🏠 Roof modeling ; A wide range of roof typologies is supported, including: mono-pitch roofs, gable roofs, hipped roofs, half-hip roofs, mansard roofs, pyramid roofs, shed roofs, asymmetric roofs and more. 🌍 HD TERRAIN: The use of HD LiDAR significantly improves the quality of Digital Terrain Models (DTM) and enables: ⛰️ Finer surface modeling ; 💧 More accurate runoff analyses ; ⚡ More reliable results than traditional raster-based DTMs. Do you need context site models, urban site models, or high-precision automated 3D data generation from LiDAR?
