We just rolled out Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) in Sweetspot. A number of our customers work with teaming partners, SMEs, and consultants - people they want in the platform, but not with access to everything. Sweetspot enterprise customers can now: → Hide sensitive pursuits from external collaborators → Lock down proprietary documents and pricing strategies → Control exactly who sees and can edit what, down to a document level A couple use cases existing Sweetspot customers have already used this feature for: - Having a teaming partner make edits on a technical volume, but hiding pricing from them - Having an SME brought in for one bid without exposing the full pipeline

I asked Sweetspot to tell me everything about how the VA spends on IT. We built this feature because our customers need to walk into any meeting, with a prime, a contracting officer, or their own leadership, and actually know how that agency buys. Sweetspot goes beyond SAM - analyzing millions of rows of data across budget patterns, spending history, contract vehicles, and agency priorities that general AI tools like Claude and ChatGPT simply don't have context of. It's then able to present this data as interactive widgets making further discovery and follow ups extremely straightforward. This level of prep used to take our users hours, but now it takes seconds.

Sweetspot customers are now using the software to conduct detailed market intelligence on their competition just using plain natural language. No clicking around in FPDS, USASpending, SAM, or any other legacy GovCon data tools with outdated UIs. They then turn this data into actionable reports, interactive widgets, and share it with their colleagues by simply just telling our AI to. The last 7 customers we have onboarded have churned off other legacy GovCon data software and fully made the switch to Sweetspot for both their capture and proposal needs. More to come.

We've released GovCon Opportunity Forecasts and Recompete Tracking in Sweetspot! Sweetspot users can now simply ask in natural language about upcoming opportunities that aren't officially posted on SAM yet, and our AI predicts opportunities based on agency patterns, budget allocation, and information about contracts expiring. You can do follow up queries to learn more about current incumbents and find teaming partners. Check it out below:

Over the past dozens of conversations I have had with GovCon enterprises, one thing is clear. The real differentiator when selling AI to government contractors isn’t the model. It’s the training + co-building agents. As the founder of an AI startup in the govcon space, I see this every day. Most primes and subs already have access to strong models. What they lack is the internal muscle memory to turn those models into agents that actually drive better capture and proposals. Capture managers, proposal managers, and BD teams are domain experts, but the vast majority have never designed or deployed autonomous AI agents. They still think in “requirements + manual process” mode. That’s why we step in as full-stack partners: training teams side-by-side, building production agents together, and creating internal “agent champion” programs inside the contractor’s capture and proposal organizations. The real moat is accelerating adoption and building the human layer most govcon teams don’t have yet. Two questions worth asking: 1. Are we investing as much in training as we are in model selection? 2. Are we treating agents as something we enable, or something we must co-build? The winners treat the second part as non-negotiable. Would love to hear from other govcon leaders and AI founders: what’s your biggest lesson on training and adoption in this space?

We’re excited to share that Sweetspot is now available directly inside ChatGPT through our partnership with OpenAI. If you work in #govcon, or know someone who does, give it a try and share it with your network. It’s completely free. Any ChatGPT user can instantly search federal contract data without needing a paid tool or a Sweetspot subscription. Access to public data shouldn’t come with a high price tag. SAM.gov is already public, and we believe AI should make it easier for everyone to find the right opportunities, not just those who can afford expensive platforms. For Sweetspot customers, this unlocks even more value. You can move from discovery in ChatGPT straight into your full workflow inside Sweetspot, from qualification to analysis to proposal response. We’ve partnered with OpenAI to release Sweetspot directly within ChatGPT. Any ChatGPT user can now search over federal contract data - no paid tools required and no Sweetspot subscription needed. We built this on ChatGPT because access to basic federal data shouldn't cost thousands of dollars a year. SAM.gov is public information, and using AI to find the right opportunities shouldn't be a privilege. For Sweetspot customers, it gets even better. You can pull opportunity data straight from ChatGPT and start up your full workflow (qualification, analysis, proposal response) inside Sweetspot. Even if you’re not in government contracting, check it out and share it with your colleagues who are - it’s completely free! Link in the comments.

This is the biggest feature release in Sweetspot history. We’re proud to announce Sweetspot’s newest data source: Mesopotamian cuneiform search. Because if your goal is to index every government contracting data source, you have to go back to where public administration really started - clay tablets, grain ledgers, and procurement notes pressed into wet mud around 2100 BC. The feature is new, but the data is not. A few things we learned: - Many ancient Mesopotamian records are officially classified as “Administrative.” So technically we just expanded our coverage of administrative contracting records by about four millennia. - The procurement problem has always been the same: information lives in too many places and the important records are hard to find. Sometimes the source material is a CSV with broken headers. Sometimes it’s a clay tablet. - The dataset is real! We used CuneiML, which is published in the Journal of Open Humanities Data. Honestly, we found it to be better organized than some federal data portals we could name… If you’re an existing Sweetspot customer, click the link in the comments to learn how to access this feature.

We launched interactive widgets in Sweetspot! This feature is a personal favorite of mine, and our customers are already using it to generate on-demand Gantt charts, diagrams, interactive pwin calculators for their capture processes and more. I may or may not have also used it to generate a chess game where I played our AI and got smoked…

This is one of my favorite Sweetspot features we have ever shipped. Automated PowerPoint generation. Everyone knows how annoying it is to build up gate decks, sales collateral, and oral presentation decks for a bid. And most other AI GovCon tools in the market solely help with generating .docx based artifacts. We built a feature within Sweetspot which is able to easily create PowerPoints using your company information and have it take on the form of any existing .pptx templates you already have in your organization’s SharePoint.
