Here’s what stood out:  ✅ GPT-5 Pro & Expanded Models in the API  OpenAI rolled out GPT-5 Pro and new model options (like Sora 2) via their API, giving developers more power and flexibility.    ✅ AgentKit — AI Agents as First-Class Citizens  They introduced AgentKit, tools and frameworks for building agents that go beyond chat: they act, orchestrate, and automate tasks. DevDay framed chatbots as “places where software runs”— not just interfaces.    ✅ Codex Played a Big Behind-the-Scenes Role  Codex wasn’t just announced — it was used inside DevDay itself (demos, stage tools, even in arcade machines). OpenAI is clearly betting on agents + code generation as foundational infrastructure.    ✅ ChatGPT Becomes an AI Platform / App Store Vision  The narrative is shifting: ChatGPT is evolving into a platform that hosts apps, agents, and possibly hardware integrations.
