  • Robinson Meyer has written the clearest account yet of why America’s electricity crisis demands urgent attention. We agree completely and want to add another dimension the piece doesn’t fully explore: while we build the grid of the future, we can unlock significant capacity from the grid we have today. New transmission, permitting reform, and nuclear are the right long-term moves. But they take years, and demand is arriving now. The good news is that utilities and grid operators don’t have to wait. A growing toolkit of fast-deployable solutions can deliver real capacity gains in months. Dynamic Congestion Management (DCM) is one of the most powerful solutions in this toolkit. Deployed by Splight across utilities in multiple regions globally, DCM enables fast-responding assets, such as batteries, generators, and large loads, to react to grid contingencies in milliseconds. This allows operators to safely raise transmission limits on existing lines, adding up to 90% more firm, usable capacity without new infrastructure. Critically, utilities deploying DCM have resolved interconnection bottlenecks, expanded capacity, and improved reliability simultaneously. These are outcomes that were once seen as competing priorities. Other near-term tools deserve attention too: dynamic line ratings, advanced reconductoring, topology optimization, and demand flexibility programs are all deployable today and operating at scale in other markets. The long build-out of infrastructure is essential. But utilities and regulators have an opportunity now to do both: invest in tomorrow’s grid while extracting more from what we have today. That’s not a tradeoff. It’s a strategy. https://lnkd.in/gUkDvRbB

  • We were absolutely thrilled to present at the EPRI Incubatenergy Labs Pitch Day in Atlanta, where we showcased our Dynamic Congestion Manager (DCM) solution. On stage, Derrick Kemph demonstrated how Splight’s software-based, advanced transmission technology safely unlocks up to 2X more usable transmission capacity on existing infrastructure using cutting-edge algorithms and real-time response capabilities. For utilities facing decade-long build timelines and growing interconnection queues from data centers and generation assets alike, DCM enables significant interconnection timeline reduction while enhancing the reliability of the grid while new infrastructure is completed. Thank you to EPRI, Incubatenergy Labs, Georgia Power Company, and Southern Company for hosting and making this program what it is. And congratulations to the full cohort of finalists. Connect with us at splight.com/contact or message us directly to learn more about how DCM can solve your interconnection issues. #Incubatenergy #IEL #EPRI #GridModernization #TransmissionCapacity

  • DOE Launches $1.9B SPARK Program — Splight’s DCM Now Eligible for Funding   The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has officially launched a $1.9 billion Speed to Power program through SPARK, one of the most significant grid‑modernization funding opportunities to date.   Splight's Dynamic Congestion Management (DCM) solution qualifies as an Advanced Transmission Technology (ATT) under the SPARK framework. SPARK specifically seeks projects that deploy ATTs capable of expanding transfer capability, improving affordability, and optimizing existing grid infrastructure - directly aligned with the function of DCM.    ⚡️SPARK Topic 1 funds reconductoring and deployment of ATTs. If you’re a grid operator, utility, or transmission owner, DCM can help you: - Expand usable capacity on existing corridors using real‑time intelligence - Maintain transfer capability during reconductoring outages - Reduce the need for temporary infrastructure   ⚡️SPARK Topic 2 funds advanced grid technologies, including software tools, that enhance the efficiency, reliability, and flexibility of the grid through real-time monitoring, control, and optimization of grid assets. If you’re a generation or large electric load owner, DCM: - Allows accelerated access to higher interconnection capacity - Transforms loads into fast-responding reliability assets - Reduces curtailment and maximizes deliverability of generation    ⚡️SPARK Topic 3 supports high-impact innovations in grid reliability and resilience to facilitate large load integration. If you're a public‑sector applicant, DCM contributes:  - Demonstrable, data‑driven capacity expansion - A replicable ATT deployment framework - Real‑world operational results from commercial systems   📝 Ready to Collaborate on Your SPARK Application?   With concept papers due April 2, this is the moment to explore how Splight’s DCM can strengthen your proposal.   Reach out at Splight.com/contact or message us directly to schedule a SPARK strategy session with our experts.   Let’s unlock more grid capacity together! #advancedtransmissiontechnology #DOE #gridmodernization https://lnkd.in/ed_2P8us

  • 📈 As data centers scale to meet the demands of AI and electrification surges across industries, one constraint looms largest: Access to power. 🔌 New energy projects and large loads are stuck in interconnection queues that stretch out for years. Even those already connected to the grid face curtailment due to congestion. The result? Delayed deployments, underutilized assets, and missed profitability targets. ⚡ That’s where Splight’s Dynamic Congestion Management technology (DCM) comes in: Our flagship product is designed to accelerate timelines for accessing transmission capacity, unlocking pathways for both new and existing projects alike. Whether you're a solar developer facing curtailment or a hyperscaler looking to “bring your own power,” DCM helps you move faster, smarter, and with greater certainty. 🚦 Transmission constraints shouldn’t be the reason innovation and growth stall. 💡 Let’s build the grid we need. Now. #EnergyTransition #DataCenters #GridModernization #Renewables #Transmission #Electrification #DCM #Interconnection

  • Getting connected to the grid is one of the greatest uncertainties looming over data centers and the entire economy. One key driver holding back data centers is a tech gap in the interconnection process: regular electrical studies are not up to task. The pace of change across computing, energy, and transmission is moving so fast that previous frameworks simply can't keep up. Electrical studies - the tool that both utilities and data centers rely on to prove whether new loads can be served reliably - are no longer fit to make this critical determination. Splight’s new offering for data center interconnection combines the exact tools data center operators need to successfully navigate their utility process by providing: ⚡ Next-Generation Electrical Studies Based on Real-time Data, Including Identification of Additional Transmission Access with DCM 🔌 End-to-End Navigational Support Throughout the Complex Utility Interconnection Process Learn more about how Splight is providing data centers with the interconnection intelligence they need to safely unlock more capacity on the grid: https://lnkd.in/gnMbFw43 #datacenters #utilities #interconnection #speedtopower #speedtotransmission #scalablegridtechnology
