Why settle for a standard lunch and learn when you can go #Falafel&Fundamentals ? 🧆 Last week, we had the pleasure of hosting Sepehr Irandoost, Head of Global Surveillance E&E at Bank of America, for a session that was as sharp as it was candid. We moved past the AI buzzwords to look at the reality of adopting transformative tech in a global financial institution. Sepehr shared a brilliant analogy for AI bias: if you ask a standard AI model to draw a person writing with their left hand, it will almost always "correct" them and place the pen in their right hand. The logic? The training data is so saturated with right-handed examples that the AI learns to treat the exception as an error. In Trade Surveillance, this is a massive hurdle. If models only learn from the "majority" or historical norms, they become blind to the novel, nuanced, and evolving tactics of market abuse. To protect market integrity, we have to teach AI to understand and flag the "left-handed" outliers. Big thanks to Sepehr for such a thoughtful and refreshing session. Stay tuned for the next invite. The insights are well-rounded, and the falafel is always fresh! 🥙

Onchain prediction markets hold immense promise, yet our latest research reveals a harsh reality: they have become a breeding ground for systemic market manipulation. In our new report, Polymarket Under the Polygraph: Market Abuse in the Age of Onchain Prediction Markets, we uncover how manipulation is evolving, from cross-symbol wash trading to multichain insider activity: 🔸 Extreme Profit Concentration: <1% of wallets capture ~50% of profits. 🔸 Massive Wash Trading: $253M in gross notional volume flagged across 7.18M executions. 🔸 "Cross-Symbol" Wash Trading: A manipulation typology unique to binary markets with no traditional equivalent. 🔸 Multichain Insider Trading: Sophisticated bridge obfuscation used to bypass standard KYC/KYT monitoring. If you're operating, supervising, or investing in prediction markets, this is essential reading. 📌 Download the full report here: https://lnkd.in/gGWiwgzA

Standing room only this morning at FIA, Inc.'s Law and Compliance Conference in Washington for our fireside chat with Kalshi - No Bets On Integrity: Surveillance in Digital Asset and Prediction Markets. Kalshi's Head of Enforcement Robert J. DeNault and Solidus Founder & CEO Asaf Meir shared insights from the trenches - on what it actually takes to ensure integrity in the world's fastest-moving commodity markets, and what institutions need to be thinking about as they deploy into this space. One clear theme that kept repeating: "once you solve novel and complex integrity issues in prediction and digital asset markets, perhaps the most fragmented and fast paced markets in the world, you can better solve many issues that traditional markets are still dealing with. New surveillance and risk monitoring technology can be highly effective in solving issues traditional markets are still grappling with, but it's not as easy to use legacy technology to solve issues in frontier markets." If you're at FIA today or tomorrow, come find us at our booth. #PredictionMarkets #MarketIntegrity #FIA #TradeySurveillance #Kalshi

Solidus CEO Asaf Meir joined Bijan Maleki on Real Vision to discuss prediction markets — where they're headed, what fundamental value they bring to the finance world, and why market integrity and compliance is a massive challenge calling for new tools - but also the key to unlock for institutional adoption. As Meir notes, the institutional opportunity is enormous, but still gated. Earnings calls are a great example: Hedge funds and sophisticated capital want to express surgical views on outcomes - not just share price - to hedge themselves. Nvidia beating earnings and the stock falling anyway is the perfect illustration of why. But institutions won't route flow anywhere without integrity infrastructure in place first. Market integrity isn't the last thing you build. It's the first thing they ask about. This is particularly true as the attack surface is combinatorially expanding, fast. New users, new assets, new market formats, 24/7 trading, all happening cross on- and off-chain increase the challenge of preventing cross-product and cross-venue manipulation. Monitoring effectively requires combining data streams - on-chain, off-chain, social, sentiment, behavioral - that legacy surveillance solution were not designed to combine. Prediction markets hit $25.7 billion in total volume in March alone. While retail is still a key driver, the next chapter is institutional - and that’s a different conversation, especially on integrity and compliance. In an interview yesterday with AInvest, our CEO Asaf Meir made a point worth sitting with: When financial institutions consider engaging with prediction markets, the first questions they ask are about guardrails for integrity and compliance, sometimes even before liquidity or product design. Another important insight is that when prediction markets are building compliance and surveillance, they don’t just do it to satisfy a compliance checklist. Their markets are some of the most complicated in the world and trading is impacted far beyond the order book, second by second, 24/7 - cutting edge surveillance tools that absorb more kinds of data (social, sentiment, KYC, TM data, KYT data, etc.), look beyond the order book, and coalesce on- and off-chain data across numerous markets simultaneously are absolutely necessary l for effective surveillance. And they’re using this innovation to signal, to regulators, to counterparties, to the market, that they take integrity seriously - as Asaf noted, often more seriously than many traditional venues that have been around for decades with far less incentive to innovate. That’s the real inflection point prediction markets are at right now. Not just growth. Legitimacy and integrity. Solidus was built for exactly this moment. Crypto-native, designed for fragmented and always-on markets, purpose-built to bring together the disparate data streams that event-driven trading requires.
