    A few things that jumped out for me in Tidemark’s vertical SaaS report (200+ respondents): 1. Vertical SaaS companies that offer >1 product retain better and grow faster (by 21%) than single-product peers. Every additional product is another connection to your user's daily operations. This matters more than ever with AI reshaping the tools businesses use. More products means more front doors for new users, and more stickiness for existing ones. And btw, fintech is the most popular expansion category... 2. Payments is still the #1 expansion path (87% of vertical SaaS companies with a fintech product offer payments), but the runner up is lending. We're seeing massive uptake of Stripe Capital among SaaS platforms, and the impact on users is real. One example is auto repair platform Shopmonkey, which saw payment volume grow by 30% from their users using Capital. Most (86%) vertical software companies are directly monetizing AI features rather than using them as free sweeteners. Just like payments, I expect to see a lot of experimentation and diverse monetization models for AI features – it can be an acquisition lever or a large revenue stream unto itself.
