It's October. An the new platform that was going to be the making of peak, isn't live. 📅 The contract was signed in August, but Black Friday is now just four weeks away and Christmas is approaching fast on its heels. The warehouse team is still asking questions that should have been answered in week one. And there's still not a central project lead. This is what a failed digital transformation actually looks like. Not a dramatic "system down", but a timeline that quietly slips - and a cost the quickly rises. 🚨 "It's not about having everything figured out. It's about having the right conversations before you kick off the process." says Noemi Millares, Head of Implementation at Shippit. It's never the tech that fails. It's the process. 💀 Read the full article here 👉 https://lnkd.in/ge6yMS49

70% of digital transformations fail. And it's almost never due to the technology. 🚨 Shippit data reveals that supply chain optimisation is the number one investment for retailers in FY26, yet McKinsey research says that almost three-quarters of digital transformations fail to hit their goals. The cause, says Noemi Millares, Head of Implementation at Shippit, is misalignment, late stakeholder buy-in, and no clear project owner. ⏳ "It's a challenging environment today. Retailers are under a lot of pressure to make these investments count. The ROI on a logistics transformation isn't established by the first or thousandth parcel; it's determined by what happens in the weeks and months before go-live." The retailers that nail alignment and ownership early, go live on time. The ones that don't see costs and timelines blow out. 🏃♂️

Expanding into a new market can be expensive. Unless your shipping platform can do the heavy lifting. 💪 When Baby Bunting expanded into New Zealand, it didn't need to rebuild from scratch. That's because Shippit connected its NZ stores and a 3PL in Auckland, ensuring quick and cost-effective delivery nationwide. Fast carrier selection logic, smart routing, and the same platform Baby Bunting already knew. 📦 The result wasn't a cost but an ROI: AUD$0.5m in supply chain savings in the first half of FY26 alone, with a further AUD$0.4m forecast for H2. 📈 "We found it easy to expand online fulfilment across our stores with the scalability and agility of the Shippit platform." — Allison Kraemer, International Logistics & Fulfilment Manager ANZ Read the full story → https://lnkd.in/gQwBmHDw

If a supplier's quality drops or a carrier goes under, what are your immediate steps? 📍 If you have to pause to think, it's already too late. Today, scenario-planning and proactive play books are the difference between absorbing a disruption and being buried by it. 🚀 "Slow decision-making comes down to a lack of investment in visibility tools and scenario modelling. There are still too many antique processes and systems that are not agile," says supply chain consultant, Alexander Witzke. The businesses pulling ahead aren't guessing. They're operating from live dashboards, traffic light systems and real-time supplier data - making decisions in minutes, not days. 👊 Read our latest Delivered 👉 https://lnkd.in/gD-8hxZ2

Many retailers are sitting on a fulfilment network they're not using. 🤔 Baby Bunting had locations across Australia and New Zealand, with staff and inventory already in place. What was missing was the ship-from-store infrastructure to connect it all at scale. 📈 With Shippit, they went from zero to 100% of stores activated for online fulfilment in 90 days. No lengthy build or expensive overhaul, just smart integration and carrier logic that made what they already had work harder. The result? An 18% YoY growth in online sales and AUD$1.2M in labour 🚀optimisation savings. "When you combine engaged teams with local inventory and strong omnichannel capability, ship-from-store becomes a competitive advantage built on trust, speed, and consistency." — Allison Kraemer, International Logistics & Fulfilment Manager ANZ, Baby Bunting Read the full story 👉 https://lnkd.in/gQwBmHDw

For years, businesses operated on the assumption that things would just...work. Most retailers didn't realise their gamble. 🎲 Then came a pandemic, a blocked canal, and geopolitical conflicts. Suddenly, that assumption didn't hold up. "The COVID era revealed the fragility of global supply chains. It was a perfect storm and it elevated supply chain onto the radar of board members. But the speed of change and adaptation is still relatively slow," says Alexander Witzke, a supply chain consultant with 25 years of experience. Awareness isn't enough. Start with an honest stock take of where your supply chain actually is, and the threats to it. Then build a plan to address and alleviate those threats. 🧱 Read the full newsletter here 👉 https://lnkd.in/gw5jhYHj

You can't predict the next crisis. But you can be ready for it. 🚨 Retail insolvencies are up 50% on FY24. Margins are under pressure. Disruption is the new normal. Yet most supply chains are still built for fair weather. ☀️ "The pandemic should have triggered people to start modelling and de-risking. Competition and price pressures need to be balanced with risk analysis. People are learning but we need better reviews and analytics. There are still too many antique processes and systems and procedures that are not agile," says Alexander Witzke, Supply Chain Consultant. The businesses that plan ahead recover when disruption hits. The ones that don't struggle to survive. 💀

Upto 45% of Baby Bunting's online orders ship to regional and remote Australia. That's a threat to both margins and delivery experience. 👊 By activating 100% of stores for fulfilment and using smart carrier selection logic, Baby Bunting cut last-mile costs without cutting corners on delivery experience. 🚚 In doing so, it turned delivery into a growth engine - cutting labour costs by $1.2m and boosting online sales by 18%. 🏆 "Our fulfilment locations make use of Shippit and we adopt the practice of selecting the most cost-effective carrier for the order — the algorithms will display the choice of carriers and we select the most economical for the lane and weights." — Allison Kraemer International Logistics & Fulfilment Manager ANZ Read the full case study here: https://lnkd.in/gQwBmHDw

Freight costs, fuel surcharges, and labour costs are putting immense pressure on already razor-thin margins. 📈 With their customers simultaneously pushing for lower prices, B2B brands are getting squeezed from both sides. Their traditional fixes aren't cutting it anymore. 🛠️ "Either you pay a premium - like $50 per delivery - and that's not sustainable. Or you put a human being on top of the process, which is not sustainable either. The answer is the same one B2C found. Use technology to automate the decisions, consolidate the shipments, and give every stakeholder visibility without adding headcount," says Rob Hango-Zada, Co-founder & Joint CEO at Shippit. You can't keep absorbing the cost or passing it on. The only way out is finding the efficiency inside the process itself. ⚙️ 🔗 Read the latest edition of Delivered to find out how B2B brands are finally tackling the margin squeeze 👉 https://lnkd.in/gQDcrGvM
