Top 3 mistakes or regrets I see in industrial risk assessments: 1. Folks try to take on far too large of a project incorporating risk, inventory, vulnerability, controls, and threats without adequate resources i.e. support from an expert, enough budget, time, or guidance. 2. They only focus on one or two sites, which ultimately get bogged down operationally and BAM! - nothing happens til the next year while other sites receive zero guidance and resources for improvement 3. They try to tackle a large or complex assessment module, framework, or standard without the proper training, tools, or support from an expert. I write this as they were inputs into this article. A few words here on the value of considering simplicity, scope, and scale when it comes to risk assessments in critical sectors.
