Not all stainless steel applications succeed and when they fail, it’s often due to avoidable mistakes. Incorrect grade selection, poor welding practices, or lack of understanding around environmental conditions can lead to corrosion, contamination, or structural failure. These issues don’t just impact performance. Sassda provides members with access to technical expertise and guidance to help prevent these issues before they happen. Whether it’s choosing the right grade or troubleshooting a challenge, having the right support makes all the difference https://lnkd.in/dfxKy2am #TechnicalExpertise #StainlessSteel #QualityMatters #IndustryStandards

Stainless steel isn’t just a material choice. It’s a long-term investment in performance, safety & sustainability. Across sectors like water infrastructure, food processing, mining, and construction, stainless steel delivers unmatched durability, corrosion resistance, and lifecycle value. While upfront costs may be higher than alternatives, the reduced maintenance and longer service life make it far more cost-effective over time. Thank you, Engineering News, for bringing attention to the challenges impacting our industry. These insights help us build a more resilient, sustainable future and fuel informed conversations across the sector. #StainlessSteel #Metals #EngineeringSA #Manufacturing
[𝐅𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐄𝐒 𝐍𝐄𝐖𝐒] Following a decline in manufacturing capacity and competitiveness across virtually all sectors of the South African economy, the metals and engineering sector is facing a crisis of “historic proportions”, says industry body the Sassda executive director Michel Basson. Years of low capital expenditure, declining demand and policy gaps have accelerated deindustrialisation and eroded the country’s productive base. Consequently, the stainless steel sector is subject to a negative trend of retrenchment, resulting in small- and medium-sized enterprises finding it increasingly difficult to survive. #StainlessSteel #Metals #Deindustrialisation This week's Stainless Steel feature has more information> https://bit.ly/4sRurcW
