  • Every year, millions of appliances are thrown away in the UK. Many of them still work. At the same time, hundreds of thousands of households are living without a basic essential - no washing machine, no fridge, no cooker. That's why the work of our members, like The Furniture Revival, matters so much. The Furniture Revival works every day to make sure that a low income doesn't mean going without the essentials. And through our partnership with The Appliance Recycling Group | B Corp™, we're helping them do exactly that - redirecting quality appliances away from waste streams and into the homes of people who need them. As The Furniture Revival put it: "The donations from the Appliance Recycling Group are invaluable to us as a charity by assisting us in providing quality, reusable items to a very deprived community. Being able to offer a wide selection of affordable white goods to our customers is core to our charity objectives, and these donations are an essential part of this." Imagine not being able to wash your clothes, refrigerate food, or heat a meal. For 480,000 UK households, that's not a hypothetical; it's daily life without one essential large appliance, according to research by Pro Bono Economics. It affects dignity, daily routines, and the ability to stay connected to work, school, and community. Two years ago, we embarked on a four-year campaign with The Appliance Recycling Group | B Corp™ to get reusable appliances out of waste streams and into the homes that need them most. Here's what we've achieved so far: 📦 2,000+ appliances diverted from landfill 🏠 1,900 families supported 💷 £370,000 saved combined We're at the halfway point of a £1 million social value campaign, and moments like these remind us why reuse matters. Behind every appliance is a household that can now run a little more smoothly and with a little more dignity 💜 Read more here: https://lnkd.in/ecBXZ8S5 #EarthDay2026 #Reuse #SocialValue #Sustainability #CircularEconomy

  • 🌍 This Earth Week, we're celebrating what happens when organisations come together with a shared purpose. Two years ago, Reuse Network and The Appliance Recycling Group | B Corp™ joined forces to tackle e-waste and put good-quality appliances in the hands of people who need them most. Since then, over 2,400 reusable appliances have been donated to Reuse Network members across the UK. One of those members is toogoodtowaste in Rhondda Cynon Taf. Thanks to the partnership, they've been able to provide clean, safe, and fully tested appliances to local people on low incomes. As one customer put it: "It's great that I can come to toogoodtowaste to buy a new washing machine for so much cheaper, and I know it's safe because it's been tested by their electricians." We're incredibly grateful to the Appliance Recycling Group and every Reuse Network member making this happen - and we're always looking for more organisations that share this vision. • 📅 This week marks #EarthWeek 🌍 a period dedicated to raising awareness and taking action to protect the environment and combat climate change, leading up to #EarthDay on 22 April. This Earth Week, we're shining a light on the valuable impact of reuse, demonstrated through our partnership with The Appliance Recycling Group | B Corp™ 🔄 It takes a community to power reuse, and behind every reused washing machine, cooker, or fridge is a story of sustainability and support for local people. Throughout the week we'll be sharing stories from the partnership, as well as highlighting the incredible charities creating change in their communities 💚 #EarthDay #EarthWeek #ReuseNetwork #CircularEconomy #SocialImpact #SocialValue

🌟 Small Scheme, BIG Impact 🌟 We’re pleased to share continued impact from our partnership with Currys/DHL Inverness and the Reuse Network. In March 2026, ILM Highland supported 21 households through our White Goods returns scheme, helping people access essential items at affordable cost while reducing waste. 💷 Estimated savings of £3,900 🌍 Around 2.02 tonnes of CO₂ emissions avoided This is just one part of the wider work happening across ILM Highland, but a great example of partnership in action, delivering meaningful outcomes for both communities and the environment. Thank you to our partners for their continued collaboration.
