Breakup season in Alaska usually means potholes, mud, and puddles. But even in the gray, Alaskans create Bright Spots in their communities. In her latest letter, Gretchen reflects on how Alaskans create good in both big and small ways and introduces Bright Spots, our new storytelling campaign highlighting these moments across Alaska. Our first Bright Spot features Sitka Homeless Coalition and Hítx’i Sáani (“Little Houses”). 🔹 Read Gretchen’s letter: https://lnkd.in/g5bqKHpX 🔹 Read the Sitka Bright Spot story: https://lnkd.in/gJ9hjQ6y 🔹 Follow along on Instagram: https://lnkd.in/gYRWHV9c

“Helping others is an Alaska tradition.” -- Elmer Rasmuson
About us
We are an Alaska-focused family philanthropy created in 1955 by Jenny Rasmuson and her son, Elmer Rasmuson. Over three generations, the Rasmusons built up the family-owned bank, then leveraged its sale in 1999 to turn the foundation into the largest private funder in Alaska. On average. we award $25 million to $30 million a year to improve the lives of Alaskans.
