Fakt, że zostałem zaproszony, mimo iż od lat nie pracuję już w Microsoft, jest tego najlepszym dowodem. Mainframe modernization is increasingly appearing on every C‑level agenda—driven by cost savings, skill shortages, and the need to accelerate time to market. With the rise of AI, it can sometimes feel as though it is positioned as the answer to everything. AI is powerful and will undoubtedly help modernize our mainframes, but it is not the only answer. This evening, I was invited for a celebration party at the Belgium Embassy in Warsaw marking the successful completion of a full mainframe migration at mBank. For me, it was a meaningful milestone: I helped sell the original solution during my time at Accenture, and later, at Microsoft, supported both the customer and partner throughout the journey. Seeing the customer fully switch off their mainframe was incredibly rewarding. A big congratulation to mBank S.A. in Poland with Raincode as their mainframe modernization solution, to move their core banking solutions off the mainframe. We all know that mainframe environments using many languages, databases, and tools—there is no single solution that fits every scenario, not even AI. Tonight’s go‑live celebration proved that success comes from choosing the right approach for the customer’s specific challenge. The customer described the experience as feeling like a marriage, and the tool selected, in this case Raincode, was truly fit for purpose. This is what keeps me motivated after more than 20 years in this field. Every situation is different, every challenge is unique, and the work is never boring. Mainframe Modernization Rocks. Belgian company Raincode and Polish mBank celebrated the success of their partnership yesterday at the Belgian Embassy in Warsaw. In a world premiere, mBank—supported by Raincode—has fully decommissioned its mainframe and rehosted its core banking system on .NET.
