building better games for kids and families

About us

Designing and developing games that respect parents and kids. A few years ago, I watched my nephew gravitating toward games that were fun—but packed with ads and designed to maximize engagement instead of delivering quality content. It stuck with me. While there are many exceptions out there, I believe there’s a lot of room for making much better games for the younger audience. In 2025, I became a dad. My wife and I mapped out a plan where I could be a stay-at-home dad and also dedicate time to building those better games that my daughter would eventually play and learn from. And so, Pretty Games was born! - It aims to create games that are well-designed and that respect kids and parents. - Games that I want my daughter, my nephews, and other kids to play. - Games that are actually fun while teaching language skills, math, reading, concentration, memory, and problem-solving.

I've been working on something during #HispanicHeritage #month: It's an open-source database featuring influential people that shaped the Latinx history, culture, and people! - https://lnkd.in/ef8edkAS This idea came after I knew I wouldn't have time to participate in this year's #UnidosGameJam hosted by Latinx in Gaming, even though I loved the theme: #roots! It reminded me of last year's game jam, where I spent quite a bit of time researching influential people from Latin America. I realized I could channel that same energy into creating a resource: researching Latinx people who shaped the history and culture of Latin America and compiling it into something that others could use in their games or that I could use in my future projects too.
