    Explaining the Podscribe benchmark report, Matthew Drengler shows what’s #Possible in -#podcasting. With $5B ad revenue, podcasts are still under monetized based on effectiveness. “Of the people that channels drove to the website when you look at cost per visitor, streaming audio with a lower response rate drives a slightly more efficient cost per visitor. They’re pretty close. And when we look at cost per Customer, kind of the same story. So the invisible hand has done a great job at pricing these channels fairly accordingly …There’s a lot more to look at in here though: Yes, host read ads do a great job at driving conversions. People love to hear recommendations of the product from the host. But if you flip the script a little bit — because there’s a difference between buying an audience or buying a run of show across all episodes, versus a single episodic (which is usually how host read ads are bought) — the purchase rate for those that are targeted for a specific episode are twice as efficient from a purchase rate per perspective those non-specific shows or Producer-read ads. But when we look at it from a cost per acquired customer perspective? the cpms are pretty darn good!” #Possible2026 #audio
