PayPlan

Financial Services

We work closely with creditors, employers and the advice sector helping people to access free and regulated debt advice.

About us

PayPlan has been helping people in debt for over 30 years. We’re one of the largest providers of free debt advice and debt management plans in the UK and are trusted by some of the country’s largest employers, unions, lenders and voluntary organisations to help the people they work with successfully make their way out of debt. We were originally set up to assist the police in helping their employees and this unique, partner-led perspective has driven our approach ever since. We’re committed to collaboration – to sharing our knowledge and best practice in order to raise the bar for debt support and achieve the very best outcome for every person who comes to us. In short, we know debt. And we’re here to help our partners know and understand it too.

It’s the time of year I love where I get to sit in a room of extremely passionate people who want to change lives and be the voice of their community. It’s the Bakers Food And Allied Workers Union conference this week and we are proud to support this industry. PayPlan have worked alongside the union for many years to ensure workers get access to free debt support, at the point of need and delivered with dignity. Long may it continue! #insolidarity PayPlan

  • 🫶 We understand that being referred for debt advice can feel daunting for many customers. That’s why we work hard to make the experience as supportive, clear, and reassuring as possible from the very first contact. When you refer someone to us, here’s what they can expect:

  • 🤝🏻Our Executive Committee and Senior Leadership Team came together at Belton Woods Hotel, Spa and Golf Resort for an away day focused on shaping the future of PayPlan. Time away from the day-to-day gives us the space to step back, collaborate, and develop our plans to enhance PayPlan. Our focus remains clear: meeting customers where they are, understanding their individual circumstances, and ensuring they can access support in a way that works best for them!

Something I think about a lot: Vulnerability isn't a fixed characteristic. It's not a label you put on someone and leave there. It's a state, often temporary, often unexpected, that any one of us could find ourselves in. That's what makes this so important. I'm thrilled to share that we're partnering with PayPlan to launch a 90-minute training session for Yonder employees, built specifically to help teams have better, more human conversations with customers who are going through particularly difficult times. This isn't just open to our support teams, but anyone at Yonder, who would like practical tools and techniques to navigate difficult conversations with confidence. This is the first of several projects we're building out around vulnerable customer support at Yonder and it's one of the things I'm most proud to be working on. Obsessing over customers means showing up for them when it's hard, not just when it's easy. I can't wait to share more on how it's going in the next few weeks.

  • 🎉 Celebrating “20 Years of Debt Advice – What Comes Next?” with Debt Free Advice. A great opportunity to reflect on how the debt advice landscape has evolved over the past two decades, and to explore the challenges and opportunities ahead for our sector. Today was an important reminder of the role collaboration plays in ensuring people receive the right support at the right time, particularly as financial pressures continue to impact households across the UK.
