🏆We’re incredibly proud to share that Parallel Project Training, in partnership with Network Rail, has won the 'Developmental Programme of the Year' award at the 2026 Association for Project Management Education and Research Awards dinner this Thursday! This recognition celebrates the success of the Network Rail Project Management Graduate Scheme and the #collaborative #effort behind creating a development programme that goes beyond traditional training. Together as a team, Parallel Project Training and Network Rail designed a bespoke 15-week learning journey that combines the APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ) with practical, scenario-based learning tailored specifically to the realities of the rail industry. 💬 What makes this programme so impactful is its focus on real-world application. Rather than delivering off-the-shelf training, the programme was built around Network Rail’s projects, challenges, and ways of working which gave graduates the opportunity to apply their learning directly to the environments they operate in every day. The results have been incredibly rewarding to see: strong pass rates, high learner engagement, and graduates growing in confidence as they transition into future project leadership roles across the industry. We’re also especially proud of the programme’s emphasis on inclusion and developing diverse future talent within project management and infrastructure. A huge thank you to Julie Alderdice and the team at Network Rail for their trust, collaboration, and shared commitment throughout this journey, as well as to our incredible #Teamparallel whose hard work made this achievement possible. Being finalists was already an honour, but to now be recognised as winners is an incredible moment for everyone involved. What a fantastic few days at the 2026 #APMconference in #Manchester! This was such a great opportunity to connect with project professionals from a wide range of backgrounds and industries. We thoroughly enjoyed catching up with our current clients, meeting new faces within the APM community, and taking part in so many insightful and engaging conversations. One of the highlights for us was the discussion sparked by our “Cast Your Vote” mini research activity at our stand, where we asked project professionals what areas of their projects they would like more #clarity on. The responses sparked some incredibly thought-provoking discussions and highlighted how project challenges and priorities can vary greatly across different industries. Two key themes stood out consistently throughout the event - #Scope & #Requirements and #Benefits & #Value. We will be exploring these further in an upcoming blog post where we will be sharing the insights we gathered, reflections from the conversations we had at the conference. We will also explore our perspective on the trends shaping today’s project management landscape inspired by these conversations, so tune in on our blog for more soon! Last friday, the Parallel team came together in Bedford for a #teamdevelopmentday focused on strengthening the way we work, communicate, and collaborate with one another! We took part in activities exploring our personality types through the #MBTI framework, alongside open conversations about #communication styles, #waysofworking, and what helps each of us perform at our best. It gave us the chance to better understand one another, build stronger connections, and have plenty of fun along the way too. It was a powerful reminder that successful project management is always about people first. Strong teams are built on #trust, #communication, #understanding, and the ability to work effectively with different personalities and perspectives. When teams understand each other better, collaboration becomes stronger, challenges are easier to overcome, and outcomes improve for everyone involved. Days like this are so important. Taking the time to invest in your people and strengthen team relationships can have a lasting impact on both workplace culture and long-term success. Last night, we hosted the APM East of England Network Emerging Project Professionals Evening and Networking Event in #Cambridge. It was fantastic to see so many aspiring and early-career project professionals, as well as established project managers, come together to connect and learn from diverse experiences across industries. The energy in the room highlighted just how valuable these opportunities are for building confidence, expanding networks, and supporting the next generation of project leaders.
