  • Congratulations Rashmi Tourani on achieving this outstanding qualification! We are proud to spotlight our academic team's achievements, and look forward to seeing continued growth for all students, staff, and graduates too!

I’m excited to share that I’ve qualified as an IBEN Workshop Leader. This journey has been shaped by the guidance, support, and belief of some incredible people along the way. A special thank you to Vicki Gardner - truly the best coach I could have asked for. Your mentorship has made a lasting impact on my growth and confidence. I’m looking forward to contributing to my school and beyond, while continuing to learn, grow, and support others within the IB community.

Recently, I had the lovely opportunity to conduct a poetry workshop with the Grade 3 students at One World International School Singapore, and it was truly a deeply meaningful experience. Working with young writers always reminds me why I started Favour.writes, reinforcing my belief that everything and anything is worthy of a poem. There’s something incredibly honest about the way children approach poetry — unfiltered, imaginative, and unafraid to express what they feel. In just two hours, the room transformed from curious energy into a space filled with thoughtful, surprising, and often beautiful lines. We explored the idea that poetry doesn’t need to be perfect or even rhyme — it simply needs to feel true. The overarching theme for this workshop was: Earth Day (which would be celebrated this month!). Through simple prompts and guided exercises, students created their own pieces, many of which reflected their unique perspectives on this world we all call home. What stood out most was their willingness to share. It takes courage to put words to feelings, and even more to read them aloud. Witnessing those moments of quiet confidence from the students, in turn filled me with immense pride and fulfilment. Many thanks to Dinali Naomi and One World International School Singapore for having me! Also grateful for Phoebe Tan who took the time to assist me in this workshop. Here's to creating more spaces where people can discover their voice through poetry! Check out a video on what went down! https://lnkd.in/gSu2yirp

  • OWIS’ Nanyang campus commenced in January 2018 - and the most tenured OWIS campus right here in Singapore has laid the foundation and accelerated the growth of our values-driven culture. What are some of the more unique aspects of the OWIS culture, you may ask: 🔷 Our multicultural student body ❤️🩷🧡💛💚🩵💜🤎, with over 70 nationalities 🔷 A kindness-led approach to learning 🦸 🦸♀️ 🔷 The otter being the campus mascot 🦦 🦦 🦦 Mr James Sweeney, Head of School at the Nanyang campus, expands on the above attributes of OWIS Nanyang in an article you may find in the comments.

  • A milestone achievement for OWIS Nanyang: World Topper recognition in Cambridge IGCSE We are proud to announce that three students from OWIS Nanyang have achieved the distinguished honour of being recognised as World Toppers in the June 2025 Cambridge IGCSE Examinations. 🏅 Category: Top in the World 📘 Syllabus: Mathematics and Additional Mathematics 🎓 Students: Alice, Pratham, Annika (Left to Right) This marks the first time OWIS Nanyang has received the prestigious “Top in the World” Cambridge award, underscoring both student excellence and the strength of our academic programme. Our Head of School, Mr James Sweeney, reflected on this achievement: “Our first ever Cambridge ‘Top in the World’ results in IGCSE Mathematics: three OWIS students achieving the highest marks globally. A clear reflection of steady hard work, strong teaching and a community that backs its students.” We extend our sincere congratulations to our students and heartfelt appreciation to the Mathematics Department, whose commitment and expertise played a pivotal role in this success. This achievement reflects what is possible when high expectations, strong teaching, and a supportive school community come together. #WorldToppers #IGCSE #Milestonemoments #InternationalSchool #OWISNanyang #Cambridge
