  • One of the most valuable steps in innovation work happens before a proposal is written: taking the time to understand what the recent scientific literature is actually telling us.  New publications do more than report results. They help reveal which approaches are gaining credibility, where technical limitations remain and which ideas are moving closer to practical application.  At OLAR Solutions, reviewing the literature helps us assess whether an idea is mature enough for a project, where further validation may still be needed and how a concept can be positioned more convincingly in a proposal or collaboration discussion.  This is especially relevant in areas such as sustainable construction, circular materials, biomass valorization and applied process development, where scientific progress can quickly influence technical direction and innovation priorities.  A strong project idea should not only respond to a funding topic. It should also show awareness of the scientific context behind it.  That is why literature screening remains an important part of how we support partners: not just to collect references, but to identify signals, gaps and opportunities that can lead to stronger project decisions.  If you are shaping a new idea and would like to discuss its scientific positioning, we would be glad to exchange views.  #OLARSolutions #ScientificPublications #ResearchSupport #Innovation #ProposalDevelopment #SustainableMaterials #BiomassValorisation

This month, we are closely following funding opportunities where strong technical positioning can make a real difference. At OLAR Solutions, our current radar is focused especially on opportunities linked to smart and energy-efficient buildings, circular construction, sustainable materials, biomass valorization and applied innovation projects where scientific depth must be translated into a clear proposal strategy. In our experience, many good ideas are lost not because the opportunity is weak, but because the fit is not assessed early enough. A strong proposal usually starts with a simple but important question: is there a real match between the call, the consortium and the technical contribution? That is where we can help. We support partners not only with proposal writing, consortium positioning, and technical input, but also with the earlier step of exploring whether there are open EU or Baden-Württemberg funding opportunities that fit the idea in the first place. Sometimes the most important first step is not drafting the proposal, but understanding where the idea belongs and whether there is a suitable call to support it. If you are developing an idea and would like to explore possible funding paths, we would be glad to discuss whether there is an open opportunity that fits and how to shape the next steps in a clear and strategic way. #OLARSolutions #FundingOpportunities #HorizonEurope #BadenWuerttemberg #ProposalDevelopment #InnovationSupport #ResearchFunding

  • Today, OLAR Solutions celebrates four years. Looking back, this milestone means much more to us than a number. It reflects four years of learning, collaboration, challenges and steady growth. When we started OLAR, our idea was simple: to build a company that combines scientific knowledge with practical support for real projects. We wanted to work closely with partners, understand their challenges and help turn ideas into strong proposals, clear technical concepts and meaningful innovation activities. Over these four years, we have had the privilege of contributing to projects in different fields and working with people who value quality, trust and serious technical work. For that, we are sincerely grateful. As founders, we are especially thankful to everyone who has been part of this journey clients, collaborators and partners who placed their confidence in us, and allowed us to grow step by step.  We are proud of what has been built so far, but even more motivated by what lies ahead. Thank you for being part of the OLAR journey. We look forward to new ideas, new collaborations and the next chapter. #OLARSolutions #ResearchSupport #Consulting #ProposalDevelopment #Innovation #Sustainability #Collaboration

SUM4Re Pilot Site in Longyearbyen, Norway. On the island of Svalbard, inside the Arctic Circle, these apartments (pictured) will be REnovated by REusing the pre-existing on-site material. Scanning helped to discover which materials remain in optimum conditions to be REused by using new technologies and #UrbanMining techniques. At the same time SUM4Re is helping to process the data and share the C-BIMs including the REuse and REpair indicators on all elements. #SUM4Re #Upcycling #Svalbard SINTEF SINTEF Community #UVigo Screening Eagle | Proceq VTT #CircularConstruction #CircularBuiltEUCluster #CDW _______________________________________________________________________________ Funded by the European Union. ♻️What if the materials we usually discard could become the foundation for new construction? In a circular economy, the end of a building’s life does not have to mean the end of its components. Instead of demolition and waste, deconstruction opens up the possibility of recovering valuable concrete elements for reuse. In this article, Erik StenbergJosé Hernández Vargas and Satu Huuhka present how this shift is being explored through the ReCreate project. Focusing on experiences from Germany, Finland, the Netherlands, and Sweden, the article shows how precast concrete elements can be carefully dismantled, assessed, and prepared for a new life cycle.   💡Key insight: The lifespan of a building may end - but the lifespan of its materials often does not.   📖Read the full article:  https://lnkd.in/dxB9bSiD #Horizon2020

🌍 CluBE at the European Hydrogen Skills Stakeholder Conference, Brussels On March 19, 2026, CluBE participated in the European Hydrogen Skills Stakeholder Conference, organised by the Green Skills for Hydrogen project in Brussels. The event brought together representatives from the European Commission, industry, and vocational education and training (VET) providers to address the growing need for a skilled workforce in Europe’s hydrogen economy. The conference served as a key platform for aligning policy, education, and industry needs within the hydrogen sector, with a strong focus on transitioning from strategic planning to practical implementation. 🎤A key highlight of the conference was the session “Sister Project Presentation & Panel Discussion – Synergies: How to Streamline Hydrogen Skills Development in Europe”. During this session, Mr. Nikolaos Ntavos presented the H2VE – Hydrogen Valley Vocational Excellence Hub project, presenting its role within the broader ecosystem of European hydrogen skills initiatives. 💡 The discussions underlined the critical importance of cooperation across projects, regions, and stakeholders in building a robust and future-proof hydrogen skills ecosystem, capable of supporting Europe’s clean energy transition. CluBE was represented by Nikolaos Ntavos & Athanasia Ioannidou. A special thank you to Communication Package for the great organization of the conference! #Hydrogen #GreenSkills #Erasmus+ #GreenSkillsForHydrogen #H2VE #Trainingprogrammes #H2Alliance #HydrogenSkills

SUM4Re Pilot Site in the Netherlands. At De Binckhorst industrial area in the Hague, the local school (pictured) will be dismantled to save as much reusable material as possible, including: 🚪 Trim and casing (the wooden frames from doors, windows etc..) 🛠️ Structural framework (wood and metal beams etc..) 🧱 Brick and concete masonry from walls, floors and ceilings. As an example of #UrbanMining, these materials will be UPcycled and used in the construction of new apartments - the Target Building in a neighbouring structure - which is currently a warehouse for storage and workshops for small businesses. #SUM4Re #Upcycling #theHague #DenHaag #CircularConstruction #CircularBuiltEUCluster #CDW Funded by the European Union.
