EarthPaper | [Assessing Global Supply Chain Risks] via Satellite Imagery 🔗 Read the full EP Post: https://lnkd.in/gk6zTh4n On February 28, 2026, Iran’s declaration to close the Strait of Hormuz sent shockwaves through the global energy supply chain. Roughly 20 million barrels per day—about 20% of the world’s oil shipments—were suddenly at risk. We conducted a quantitative analysis of this disruption using satellite imagery–based data. By tracking changes in vessel traffic, we assessed whether alternative routes—Saudi Arabia’s East–West Pipeline (Yanbu Port) and the UAE’s Abu Dhabi Crude Oil Pipeline (Fujairah Port)—were actively used. The data shows that while vessel counts at Fujairah Port saw a slight decrease before and after the blockade, oil flows continued through these alternative routes. Satellite imagery analysis can serve as a valuable proxy for quantifying vessel traffic and interpreting shifts in global oil supply chains. Insights on Yanbu Port are available in the full EP Post. 🛰️Nara Space Participates in KASA-Hosted Aerospace Consultation Meeting! The Korea AeroSpace Administration (우주항공청) hosted the 3rd Aerospace SOS Consultation Meeting at Nara Space’s headquarters. Domestic space exploration companies gathered to share industry perspectives on common challenges faced by commercial entities such as the burden of taking on early-stage investment activities and the difficulty of recovering R&D costs. Expanding support for the localization of space components, strengthening ground infrastructure for utilizing exploration data, and increasing private sector participation were also discussed in detail. Nara Space will continue to stand as a contributor for strengthening the competitiveness of Korea’s space industry ecosystem through close collaboration with government and industry partners.
