Today, we are announcing Microsoft’s five‑point plan for building Community‑First AI Infrastructure, our pledge to build and operate datacenters responsibly as we help power the next generation of AI. Progress must go hand in hand with partnership, and these commitments set a high bar for how we work with communities across the United States. Building AI infrastructure isn’t just about technology, it’s about a long-term view that benefits everyone. https://lnkd.in/eXVJ89dM    Watch the livestream: https://lnkd.in/edkNet7u

    • Title: Microsoft’s Community-First AI Infrastructure Plan.

We’ll pay our way to ensure datacenters don’t raise electricity prices: pay utility rates, collaborate with utilities, innovate for efficiency, advocate for affordable, reliable power.
Minimize water use and replenish more than we consume: reduce usage, replenish water, increase transparency, support policies to conserve water.
Create jobs for residents: partner to train construction workers, expand Datacenter Academy, encourage policies for new jobs.
Add to tax base for hospitals, schools, parks, libraries: won’t seek tax breaks, support investing added taxes in vital services.
Strengthen community with AI training and non-profits: partner with schools, support adult AI learning, train businesses, invest in local non-profits.

We’re living through a historic moment of change in the world of work. A moment without a roadmap. A moment that requires a new approach to how we all navigate our careers, our companies, and our economies.    That’s why I’m excited to announce Open to Work: How to Get Ahead in the Age of AI, a book co-authored by me and Ryan Roslansky. Drawing on insights from LinkedIn and Microsoft, it’s our view of what's actually changing, what skills you really need, and how to stay ahead as AI reshapes every aspect of work.  Open to Work publishes March 31 and is available for pre-order today. The future of work is not off on the horizon. It is here now, moving fast, shaped by the choices we make today. AI is already changing how we learn, how we create, and how we move forward. The real question is not what the technology can do. The real question is what we choose to do with it. Moments like this do not just test our skills. They reveal our character and our willingness to lead this moment. That is why, on behalf of all LinkedIn and Microsoft employees, Aneesh Raman and I wrote Open to Work: How to Get Ahead in the Age of AI. We wrote it for everyone navigating this moment of profound change. For every person asking what comes next for their job, their career, their company, or their community. The book is simple by design. It clears away the noise and helps you see what is changing and why. It gives you a practical way to take control of your own path. It helps you understand your strengths, build new capabilities, and make choices that open doors instead of close them. Because here is the truth. Technology can be remarkable. But it cannot dream. It cannot care. It cannot lead. Only people do that. When we stay curious, when we keep learning, when we move forward even in uncertain moments, we shape what becomes possible. Open to Work publishes March 31 and is available for preorder now: https://lnkd.in/gDqY5Bna

Today, we released Microsoft's newest AI Diffusion Report, and I sat down with Juan M. Lavista Ferres, Chief Data Scientist and Director of the AI for Good Lab, for a special edition of #ToolsAndWeapons to unpack the report’s most striking insights. It’s a conversation about technology’s reach, the pace of progress, and what it means for the world. The report reveals how generative AI is spreading globally—and why the speed of diffusion will determine who benefits most. We spotlight countries leading the charge like UAE, Singapore, and South Korea, and explore the rise of models such as China’s DeepSeek across parts of Africa. Super excited about GPT-5.2 from our partners at OpenAI. Making it natively part of the Microsoft tools people use every day along with your work data helps all the new model capabilities shine. The pace of progress continues to accelerate. GPT‑5.2 brings together GPT-5.2 Thinking—built for solving harder problems, long-context reasoning, coding, spreadsheets, and presentations; and GPT-5.2 Instant—an efficient model for everyday writing, translation, and skill-building.  • GPT-5.2 with Work IQ is great for unlocking insights, market research, and strategic planning —reasoning across your meetings, emails, and docs. Starting today, you can select GPT-5.2 in the model picker in M365 Copilot. • In GitHub Copilot, GPT-5.2 is a fantastic multi-purpose model, especially when it comes to long-context and reasoning when coding or investigating a complex code base. Also available today. • We’re also bringing GPT-5.2 models to Microsoft Foundry and Copilot Studio, and starting rollout in our Copilot consumer experience. Ultimately, for us this is all about model choice for all of our customers and with auto, you can rely on Copilot to pick the right model for the job at hand. I’m looking forward to what customers are able to achieve with this new capability.
