  • Is radiology AI finally growing up? A new longitudinal analysis in European Radiology reviewed all 173 CE-certified radiology AI products from 2020 to 2023... and the trajectory is promising. The percentage of certified products with peer-reviewed evidence rose from 36% to 66%. Publications jumped from 237 to 639. Studies focusing on real-world clinical impact (beyond diagnostic accuracy) remained limited but steady, with 31% of tools supported by at least one high-level study (levels 3–6). Multicenter validation is on the rise (30% → 41%, p < 0.01), but vendor-independent, multinational, and prospective studies are still lagging. This evolving evidence base is critical. While retrospective diagnostic studies (still the majority) are useful, they’re not enough to drive meaningful clinical adoption. Real-world data, independent trials, and demonstrable outcomes will define the next phase. We’re watching this space closely—not just for technological readiness, but for operational viability. https://lnkd.in/g4zRhbft

  • Friends, Steven Osborne and Josh Brex will be in DC this week for the DSI DOD/VA Health Summit. Honestly, if you're not yet on the roster and it's not too late, stop in. This is one of the premier Federal Health IT events in town. (And I'm not just saying that because of the catering) There is no better time or place to get true candid back and forth conversations with VHA and DOD leadership than here at the DSI event. This year’s landscape is different. It's no secret we're in unprecedented territory on both the fiscal and policy fronts. Anyone in the room is going to walk away with the clearest picture you can get right now of where the VA/DoD health IT landscape is headed in the near term. And for industry, this is one of the rare chances we get to actually influence the conversations on EHR, integration, modernization, care coordination, and the policy moves that tie it all together. See everyone there
