OPDA has been around since the mid-70s. Back then, the focus was office equipment and whatever software ran on the desk next to it. What's kept it going for five decades isn't the tech. It's the idea that business owners running independent companies need an honest, unbiased place to compare notes. That hasn't changed, even as the members have gone from selling laser printers to managed services. That's a room worth being in. Mailprotector is sponsoring this year's semi-annual event, and we're glad to be part of it. If you're at it right now, stop by and say hello to Ty Smith and Jason Samples. Today’s phishing attacks prey on emotion and urgency, creating just enough pressure to make even careful employees click before they think. To combat this, you’ve probably been advised to “train” and “educate” users by sending fake phishing emails that test their ability to spot threats. There’s an entire industry built around this so-called approach — vendors who create convincing-looking phishing simulations and track the users who “fail” each test. But this approach is fundamentally flawed. Again, it puts the burden of email security on users. It teaches through fear and shame rather than education. And most importantly, it still doesn’t stop real phishing attacks from reaching inboxes. Why not just have a system that stops phishing instead of tricking your users into making mistakes? Our CEO, David Setzer, just shared a phishing email story talking about what phishing looks like in the AI age. View his post here: https://lnkd.in/eRrnm-pQ

Email security banners are just CYA. They exist so vendors can say "we warned you" when someone clicks something they shouldn't. Not to actually stop the threat. David Setzer's daughter is a nurse practitioner at a hospital system. She told him that whenever she gets a message she doesn't want, she just reports it as phishing so she won't get in trouble. That's what phishing training has produced. Medical professionals gaming the system to avoid a flag, not learning to spot a real threat. David's take: we should be doing our job so she can do hers. That's why Shield doesn't put a Post-it note on a suspicious email. It puts dynamic, real-world information about every message, every message. Stop slapping static banners on the problem. Start fixing it with Shield. https://lnkd.in/ehPtbnpd

Bracket was built for MSPs who are tired of dealing with password resets, app installs, and plugin headaches that come with email encryption. The reality is, most solutions still depend on those same outdated processes. This one doesn’t. If you haven’t seen it yet, take a look — whether you’re supporting one user or thousands, it’s designed to make life easier for administrators. And it’s one of those rare products your users will actually enjoy using. https://lnkd.in/eAUgDhiG

We're hiring. Know anyone? Christopher Hall (in the middle) is a Technical Support Specialist here. When we asked him what the job is actually like, he didn't reach for the polished version: "Working in Mailprotector Support is a fast-paced, complex job where every day brings new challenges and genuine learning alongside real engagement with the partners we serve. The team is a close-knit community where ideas are openly discussed, and problems are solved together. Our leaders, Mark and Cody, lead with guidance, compassion, and real dignity. If you're looking for a challenging role with a team that actually matters, this is the place." A team that actually matters. That's the thing. This isn't a role where you hide behind a ticket queue. You're the face of Mailprotector every time a partner reaches out, which means you have to care about getting it right, not just getting it done. You have to be curious enough to sit with a problem that doesn't have an obvious answer. Humble enough to pull in the team when you need to. Invested enough in the partner on the other end of the call that they feel it. The people who thrive here are the ones who already live this way. They sweat the details because they know the details make the difference. They own their work without being asked. And when something hard lands in front of them, they lean in. We're hiring a Technical Support Specialist to join Chris and the rest of the team, remotely, full-time. A year or more in IT or managed services, strong communication skills, and a genuine appetite for hard problems will go a long way. The link to apply is in the comments. We read every cover letter, so write one that sounds like you.

Zero trust has been applied to networks, endpoints, and identity. Email got left behind. The ChannelPro Network just named Mailprotector one of five vendors powering up real MSP value, and the reason comes down to one thing: bringing zero trust to email security the right way. A million files restored, ten at a time. All they wanted was $300. Zachary Kinder has seen some things. He knows what happens when trust is the default. Back in 2020, Net-Tech Consulting, LLC had just started using ThreatLocker with Windows Defender, but the battle still raged on with email. Threats grew worse, and the layers of protection started stacking up. That's exactly why, when he heard Shield was bringing zero trust to email the same way ThreatLocker brought it to applications, he didn't need much convincing. "When I heard that this could be done now for email, it was super exciting, and I knew the implications of this would be significant." Now he tells every client the same thing: "Out of everything we're doing for you, this is going to be the way we protect you the most."

There's nothing like being together in the same room. We hope everyone out there is feeling a little more connected and loved by the people around them and the communities they're part of. Big thanks to our special guest, Adam Slutskin! 💚

Some nights are for fun. Our team took in the GREENVILLE DRIVE home opener last night, and Reedy Rip'It decided he was part of the crew. Can't argue with a frog. 💚

You might know him as Santa. Tim Knarr from The 20 MSP loves Bracket. Why? Because it's just so easy, not only on the tech side of things but also as a user. Be like Tim and use Bracket. https://lnkd.in/eAUgDhiG
