  • Our team showed up in a big way for this year's National Volunteer Month. Essence Healthcare and Lumeris team members participated in Unite With Us Days at Camp Torqua – in support of United Way of Greater St. Louis and Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois. Our teams rolled up their sleeves to clean cabins, clear trails, and help refresh the grounds for the upcoming season. Unite With Us Days, organized by United Way of Greater St. Louis, is a community-wide, multi-week volunteer initiative aimed at supporting local nonprofits. We’re grateful for United Way’s ongoing impact across our communities and proud of our team for meeting the moment with so much heart, teamwork, and energy. #LumerisCares #VolunteerMonth #UnitedWay #GSOFSI

  • Primary care is facing unprecedented pressure. The supply‑demand gap continues to widen, and clinicians are carrying the weight.   In a recent episode of The Convergence, Dr. Brian McDonough, MD, FAAFP, FCPP, FAAPL, speaks with Jean-Claude Saghbini, our chief technology officer and president of technology services, about how agentic AI may finally offer a scalable path forward.   Together, they discuss Tom, our AI care team member designed to reduce administrative burden, support clinical teams, and expand access to high‑quality care.   This is a meaningful conversation about what’s possible when technology is built to serve people.   🎧 Listen to the episode: https://lnkd.in/dMYmDNua   ➡️ Click here to request a Tom demo: https://lnkd.in/dVrQtT5j

Rural health transformation will not be won by funding announcements. It will be won in the operating models that survive after the announcement. Next week, I’ll be back in Washington, D.C. speaking with the Nashville Health Care Council D.C. Delegation on the Rural Health Transformation Program at the The Johns Hopkins University - Carey Business School. It’s an honor to join a panel with Emily Chen, Senior Advisor in the Office of the Administrator at Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, and Alan Morgan, CEO of the National Rural Health Association— with Jason Zachariah, President & COO of Lifepoint Health®, moderating and setting the stage. The timing matters. The $50B Rural Health Transformation Program is a significant policy moment. But capital alone does not create transformation. Rural providers are being asked to modernize care delivery, strengthen access, stabilize workforce gaps, deploy technology, rethink partnerships, and move toward more sustainable models. At the same time, many are dealing with negative margins, declining volumes, service-line reductions, and the daily pressure of keeping the doors open. That is the tension we need to talk about directly. The risk is mistaking transformation funding for transformation capacity. Real progress will depend on whether states, providers, payers, technology partners, and community leaders can translate policy intent into scalable execution. Not pilots. Not fragmented grants. Not innovation theater. Durable infrastructure that improves access, supports clinicians, strengthens primary care, and makes rural health economics work over time. The question is not whether rural health needs transformation. The question is whether we can build the operating capacity fast enough for transformation to actually reach the communities it is meant to serve. Looking forward to a serious conversation with leaders who are close enough to the work to separate policy ambition from operational reality! #Tomtheplatform #PrimaryCareasaService #Operationaltransformation #valuebasedcare #Medicare #Medicaid #CMS #RHTP #ruralhealth

Primary care is no longer a loss leader. It's REALLY the most strategic asset in a health system's portfolio. And AI is about to make it doubly so. 77% of health system execs plan to expand their primary care footprint and expect AI to make it happen. How exactly DO you make it happen, though? On April 28, Blake Madden is hosting a candid conversation on how agentic AI will be a strategic advantage in primary care. We'll cover platform architecture vs. point solutions, the shift from a staffing model to an intelligence model, and which clinical workflows are ripe for disruption right now. Special thanks to Lumeris, Rob Chamberlin, and Doug Rogers. Register with the link in the comments 👇🏻
