"My concern was that vendors operating in the legal space, with access to vast repositories of legal data, would have an advantage. I was wrong." — Scott Alderton, Managing Partner, Stubbs Alderton & Markiles, LLP Before evaluating legal AI, Scott assumed the largest players would have the edge. Then the firm ran side-by-side comparisons across vendors. "We were sceptical about Lucio. However, when we ran the exact same searches side by side between Lucio AI and other vendors, it demonstrated pretty clearly to us that Lucio was a better tool." Lucio AI has announced a partnership with National University of Singapore, Faculty of Law (NUS Faculty of Law) that will put legal-specific AI directly into the hands of students and faculty. The aim of this move is straightforward - graduates should not encounter professional legal AI for the first time on the job. A full house at the panel hosted discussion by Amy Tabraham (our UK & EU Head) at yesterday’s Crafty Fest ’26. 🙌 Amy and her co-panellist William Bowes, General Counsel of YouGov, cut straight to what every in-house lawyer feels: how to manage disputes without burning out. Three ideas we keep coming back to: 👉 Prevention can often be the best path forward. A dispute is not just about the likelihood of success but reputation, cost, time and ensuring whichever path you choose aligns with your company’s values. 👉 Whether dealing with multiple small cases at a time or one large multinational dispute, disputes can become a logistics operation and indeed a full-time job. Discovery alone means asking business teams to find emails from three years ago across systems that don't talk to each other. 👉 These cases outlast people. Carrying a multi-year dispute without it carrying you off is its own discipline. The biggest takeaway: Legal AI doesn’t stop the dispute going away but it can help manage both the operational and personal load. With tools such as Lucio AI, lawyers today can review 3,000 documents at one time. This enables lawyers to identify key themes, words and dates, turning scattered documents and threads into something organised. This keeps the picture coherent across matters and jurisdictions, and gives lawyers their hours back for the work that actually needs a human in the loop. Thank you to everyone who came. More to come. 👇 Crafty Counsel

Most AI email drafting tools still feel like a chore. Copy the thread. Paste it into another app. Rewrite the tone. Fix the subject line. Add context from attachments manually. Then copy everything back into Outlook. Lucio’s Draft Reply was built to disappear into the way lawyers already work. Give a small one-line brief to Lucio for Outlook, and it can: • Generate a full reply in one click • Adapt to your writing style based on past emails • Create subject lines automatically from the thread • Pull context from documents and attachments • Let you dictate edits with voice input Then just hit send! No more switching tabs, copy-pasting, or teaching the AI how you write. Just open an email, click reply, and get a response that already sounds like you.
