Build & Manage your Agent Workforce on Lua AI.

About us

Lua is making AI accessible and useful to companies globally. We make it easy for teams to build their own intelligent agent layer- one that drives outcomes across your business without the big budget lines, consultants or multi-year implementations. With Lua teams roll out agents that are deeply integrated, measurable, and under your control across your entire business. In days not months. We focus on abstracting the complexity required to launch enterprise grade agents and combining it with the tools needed for these agents to succeed in the real world. If you’re building in this space - or trying to figure out how to bring agents into your product, ops, or customer experience - we’d love to connect. Docs: https://docs.heylua.ai/overview

Agents are becoming the new apps. They don’t just respond to a prompt. They can reason, plan, call APIs, browse the web, write code, send messages, trigger workflows, and keep going until the job is done. They can live inside Slack, WhatsApp, email, dashboards, CRMs, browsers, and internal tools. This Saturday, 2 May we are hosting an agent builder day in Dublin with v0 by Vercel and Lua AI (YC F25). The goal is simple: go from zero to a working agent. Something that actually does something. It’s beginner-friendly, hands-on, and focused on shipping by the end of the day. You can build with v0 by Vercel to quickly go from idea to deployed agent, or use Lua AI (YC F25) to build agents that connect to real APIs, tools, workflows, and channels. Anything you build can also be submitted to the wider Global Build Week, with $6,000+ in prizes up for grabs. 2 May (Saturday) at Baseline, Dublin 8 Big thanks to v0 by Vercel, Lua AI (YC F25) and Baseline Community + Fund for supporting. If you could deploy an autonomous agent to handle one high-value, repetitive process in your business today, what would it be? If you have an answer to this, then you should be at the 3-hour build sprint our friends at Lua AI (YC F25), in collaboration with Antler, are hosting in Lagos this Friday, April 24th. I am excited to share that Paystack is backing this session because we believe the most scalable businesses of tomorrow won’t just hire more people. They will deploy agents to handle the high-speed work that usually slows teams down. Lorcan O Cathain will be in Lagos to show founders and engineers on how to build production-grade agent businesses where the agent acts as the primary workforce for speed and scalability. Lua AI (YC F25) is putting $1,000 behind the sharpest build of the day. To sweeten the deal, Paystack is waiving the processing fee for the initial 2 million Naira and giving 40% discount on Workstation subscriptions for the best build with Paystack integration. To help you prepare your build for speed and scalability, keep this 3-step framework in mind: • Pinpoint cognitive overhead: Identify a repetitive task that currently acts as a bottleneck for your team. • Map agent autonomy: Use Lua AI to ensure your agent can handle complex edge cases without needing manual intervention. • Automate the transaction: Leverage the Paystack MCP server so the agent can autonomously integrate and process payments. The event kicks off at 1:00 PM with a deep dive into agent strategy, followed by the build sprint and demos over drinks by 6:00 PM. There are limited spots available to ensure builders gets high-quality time with the mentors. The registration link and integration references are in the comments below. • "By the time a farmer notices heat stress, the biological shock has already happened." That's the problem Emmanuel Mafabi set out to solve at our hackathon in Nairobi — and the result was AvisOS, an autonomous AI-powered poultry farm manager. What it does: → IoT sensors monitor temperature, humidity, water, and feed 24/7 → A Lua AI agent reasons over the data autonomously → If danger is detected, it triggers cooling systems, sends WhatsApp alerts, and even auto-orders supplies No dashboards to stare at. No guesswork. The agent acts before the farmer even knows something is wrong. Emmanuel came in skeptical. He left as a hackathon finalist with a working prototype that could change livelihoods for poultry farmers across East Africa. This is what building with AI agents looks like when the problem is real. Full story 👇 https://lnkd.in/dZUadk2w #AgriTech #AIAgents #IoT

  • We're thrilled to announce that Ali Albadri has joined Lua as our Head of MENA. Ali is a Stanford MBA and serial entrepreneur who spent 8 years as CEO and Co-founder of CloudCath, a hardware-enabled digital health platform he built from the ground up and scaled into a venture-backed business. He knows what it takes to build something from nothing, raise serious capital, and deliver real-world impact. Now he's bringing all of that to Lua's MENA expansion. Three months in and the momentum is already extraordinary. Enterprises across construction, real estate, banking, GovTech, travel and more are adopting agentic AI faster than almost anywhere else in the world. MENA isn't catching up, it's setting the pace. And Ali is right at the heart of it. This is what Lua was built for. We can't wait to see what comes next. Welcome to the team, Ali. Let's build something incredible.

RM100(SGD33) in 9 hours. Built it, shipped it, closed the sale, all before dinner. Over the weekend we were at AI.SEA $1 Sprint in Carousell Group 's Regional HQ in Singapore, we did something we'd never done before: turned an idea into paying revenue in a single day. The format was brutal by design, walk in with a problem to solve, build an AI agent, get someone to pay you for it by 6pm. Not a demo. Not a deck. An actual deployed product that a real business opened their wallet for. We connected with the teams from AISEA and Lua AI (YC F25), cold-called prospects we didn't know that morning, shipped fast, and closed our first customer by end of day. SGD 33 (RM100) isn't the point. The point is someone we'd never met 9 hours earlier trusted us enough to pay for what we built that morning. That's a different kind of validation than any pitch deck will ever give you. Two things we're taking back to KL: 1. Infrastructure is a trap when you're moving fast. We used Lua AI (YC F25)'s terminal to set our agent's brand tone, personality, and LLM model in minutes, not days. When you have 9 hours to build, ship, and close, you can't waste 6 of them on setup. Pre-built platforms aren't cheating, they're the difference between shipping and theorizing. Most projects die in the "building the foundation" phase. Lua let us skip straight to solving the actual problem. 2. Sales isn't about convincing people, it's about finding the right problem. Cold calling felt like failure at first. Three rejections in, we realized: we weren't bad at sales, we were talking to the wrong people. Sales is a targeting problem, not a persuasion problem. When you find someone whose pain you actually solve, the close is easy. Huge thanks to Carousell Group for hosting us at their Regional HQ in Singapore and the Lua AI founders, Lorcan O Cathain, Stefan Kruger andJohnmicheal ™ for being in the room all day, showing us how to speedrun from ideation to demo-ready product. That hands-on guidance made the difference between theorizing and actually shipping. This sprint is changing our entire pitch approach at Synapze Sdn Bhd. The events and experiential industry runs on decks and renders. What if we flipped it, walk in with a working demo, let clients experience it live, close before you leave the room? #BuildInPublic #AIBuilders #AISEA #LuaAI #ShipIt #StartupSEA #SingaporeTech #MalaysiaTech

AI agents are no longer experimental — they’re already operating in production, taking real actions with real consequences. One of our portfolio companies, Lua AI (YC F25), has been at the forefront of this shift — deploying thousands of agents across multiple markets. But their latest move isn’t about scale. It’s about something the industry has been largely overlooking: governance. They’ve open-sourced their governance SDK — a tool designed to answer a critical question most frameworks ignore: 👉 What is an AI agent actually allowed to do? This isn’t about prompt guards or monitoring after the fact. It’s about: - Enforcing policy before actions execute - Creating tamper-evident audit trails - Enabling real-time decisions like blocking, approval, or human sign-off - Introducing meaningful identity and trust levels for agents With regulations like the EU AI Act coming into force soon, this shift feels both timely and necessary. Governance is quickly becoming a prerequisite — not an afterthought — for deploying AI responsibly at scale. What stands out is the approach: making this layer open, inspectable, and community-driven. If organisations are expected to trust AI systems with sensitive operations, transparency at the governance level matters. If you’re building with or deploying AI agents today, this is worth a read: 🔗 https://lnkd.in/dVgNcW3w
