Today is #GlobalRecyclingDay. A day to pause and reflect on how we use resources. And how materials can stay in circulation instead of becoming waste. At LED Linear, we see recycling as part of a broader responsibility: designing products and processes that are built for longevity, efficiency, and the careful use of resources. Since April 2024, an internal project has focused on reusing materials within our operations rather than replacing them. By continuing to use plastic spools and packaging instead of discarding them, we have avoided new material consumption. As of March 2026, this has resulted in: - 1,936 kg of plastic material saved - 43,351 spools kept in circulation Not as a statement - but as part of continuous, practical improvement. #GlobalRecyclingDay #LEDLinear

New research collaboration: bio-based plastics for high-performance technical components with Fraunhofer UMSICHT Plastics are essential for technical applications - they need to be heat-resistant, flame-retardant and mechanically robust. Today, those requirements are still largely met with fossil-based materials. A new joint research project, HighTechPLA, aims to change that by developing a bio-based high-performance compound based on PLA for the electrical industry. We’re excited that FKuR Kunststoff GmbH approached us to join the project - as they continuously develop new materials and saw a strong fit with our requirements for highly engineered plastic parts. At LED Linear, we’re participating as an associated partner, contributing luminaire components for testing and supporting the consortium with our climate chambers and testing infrastructure. On our side, the project is led by Franziska Heckmanns and Anne Krause. Yesterday, we had our first project meeting with all partners at Fraunhofer UMSICHT, including a tour of the institute. A great start and a strong team spirit across the consortium. A pedestrian bridge that glows - without overpowering the river landscape. 🌃 🌉 Along the Oude Maas, a new pedestrian bridge blends into the landscape by day and becomes a subtle ribbon of light at night.
