Gurgaon, you were awesome. Hosted Brand Brew: Gurgaon Edition last week with the folks at Nector.io and it was exactly what we hoped for. 20 D2C founders, operators and marketers. No agenda, no decks, just real conversations over food and drinks. What got me was that it was pouring that night and people still showed up. That said everything. Naresh from Whispering Homes put it best when he said the room felt like people who actually get the grind. That's exactly what we were going for. Had folks from BeastLife, ClickPost, Adobe, Whispering Homes Private Limited, Artarium and a few other incredible D2C brands/partners. Every conversation felt genuine. Big thanks to everyone who came out despite the rain. You made the night. And to Nector.io for co-hosting this with us Out Of The Blue™ More cities soon. One Week to Go! 🚨 Quick question for retailers... If your most loyal online customer walked into your shop today, would your staff know who they are? If the answer is "no," your loyalty loop is broken. Next week, Nathan Lomax and Omar Qureshi from Nector.io are showing you exactly how to fix it. We’re moving beyond "points for purchases" to explore how a unified loyalty engine can transform your bottom line.

Your online and in-store experiences shouldn’t be operating as separate businesses. So your online VIPs shouldn’t feel like strangers in your physical store. This recognition gap is silently costing you lifetime value. That’s why on Wednesday 29th April Quickfire Co-Founder Nathan Lomax & Nector.io Co-Founder Omar Qureshi will be unpacking how retailers can close the gap between ecommerce and physical retail to build retention strategies that translates across channels. From syncing Shopify POS with online loyalty in real time, to rethinking rewards beyond simple purchase points, to using services like click & collect into margin-protecting retention tools. Join us live and learn how to turn everyday transactions into long-term customer relationships.

  • Shopify loyalty programs don’t fail at setup They lose momentum because they’re built for transactions Customers: → Sign up → Earn points once → Forget the program exists And suddenly, “loyalty” becomes a discount engine. But here’s the shift 👇 Mall loyalty programs don’t work like this. They’re built as ecosystems Customers earn across: • shopping • dining • experiences That’s the unlock. 👉 Loyalty isn’t a loop (buy → earn → redeem) 👉 It’s a system (engage → progress → return) What Shopify brands can steal: • Reward more than purchases (reviews, referrals, milestones) • Build progression (tiers, visible progress) • Keep engagement alive between purchases • Make rewards impossible to ignore • Connect everything into one system Because the problem isn’t sign-ups… It’s drop-off after the first interaction If loyalty doesn’t drive repeat behavior, it’s just sitting there. • Social media listening is one of those retention levers that sounds simple …until it’s done well ~ a customer posts a glowing review on Instagram ~ a timely reply from the brand: a thank you, a share, a real interaction can turn that moment into something bigger than a single purchase ~ that’s how satisfied customers become advocates Customer expectations are clear: 64% of consumers expect companies to engage with them on social media Social listening helps brands do exactly that, monitor conversations, gather real-time feedback, and turn insights into action What social media listening makes possible: • Catch issues early (before they become churn) • Understand customer preferences in real time • Build content from what customers actually care about • Strengthen brand reputation through thoughtful responses • Increase engagement through meaningful interactions • Track competitors and industry trends to stay ahead Nector.io helps brands create personalized loyalty experiences, automate engagement touchpoints, and reward referrals, making it easier to turn loyal customers into brand ambassadors. One example: a leading Indian haircare brand saw 19.5% of total orders driven by Nector’s loyalty program, showing how retention strategies can directly impact growth. • Have you looked at Shopify’s recent updates? If not, here’s what matters for growing e-commerce brands: 1. Your products can now show up inside AI tools: Customers are no longer discovering products only through search and ads. They’re researching and comparing inside ChatGPT, Copilot, and other AI tools. Shopify is making product data easier for these platforms to read, which means cleaner product information can directly influence visibility and recommendations. 2. In-store pickup is more flexible, even when one location is out of stock Shopify can now route inventory from another location to fulfill a pickup order. For brands managing multiple locations, that means fewer missed sales and more flexibility without creating a poor customer experience. 3. You can test store changes before they affect live performance With SimGym, Shopify is introducing a way to simulate customer behavior before pushing theme or layout changes live. That makes experimentation safer, especially before major redesigns or conversion-focused updates. 4. App visibility is getting better You can now see what your apps are accessing, how often they access it, and when permissions change. For brands running multiple tools across their stack, this makes app audits far more practical. 5. Mobile checkout is becoming more usable for offline selling You can now complete sales from your phone without relying on full POS hardware. Scan items, apply discounts, and accept payments with Tap to Pay. Useful for pop-ups, events, and on-the-go selling. 6. A failed card no longer has to put store operations at risk Shopify now supports a backup payment method. It is a small setup step, but it can prevent unnecessary downtime if your primary card fails. 7. International pricing is becoming more transparent International customers can now see duties, taxes, and fees upfront. Fewer surprises at checkout usually means lower drop-off and a smoother cross-border buying experience. 8. POS hardware setup is getting more streamlined Shopify has introduced a wired hub to connect POS hardware in one place. This is more of an operational improvement, but it can simplify in-store setup and reduce friction for retail teams. 9. Checkout custom fields now flow into orders automatically Inputs like gift messages, delivery preferences, or other custom checkout data can now carry directly into the order. That reduces manual work and helps teams preserve context after purchase. Shopify keeps improving how brands sell. But turning those updates into repeat purchases, stronger retention, and higher LTV still depends on the experiences you build after checkout. If you’re looking to make every Shopify improvement work harder for customer retention, Nector.io can help. . . . . . #ecommerce #marketing #sales #branding #d2c

  • Loyalty programs do not have to be complicated to drive repeat purchases One approach that deserves more attention is the loyalty rebate program Instead of offering a one-time discount at checkout.. Rebate programs give customers something back over time, whether that is cash, store credit, discounts, or points That small shift changes the relationship Why does this matter? Because well-designed rebate programs can help brands: • increase customer retention • lift average order value • improve customer lifetime value • encourage advocacy and referrals • gather better insights into purchase behavior Check out this blog to know more 👇 https://lnkd.in/dh9ZdkDG . . . . . #loyalty, #customer, #marketing
