One more thought on profitability constraints. There's a specific cost to solving them in the wrong sequence, and most distributors don't account for it until after the fact. You spend 6-9 months addressing what you identified as the primary constraint. You invest budget, leadership attention, and team capacity. You might even see improvement—5-10% better than baseline. Then you discover the constraint you should've addressed first. And you realize two things: First, the improvement you achieved would've been 3-4x larger if you'd sequenced it correctly. Second, the resources you spent are now sunk cost. You still need to address the actual primary constraint, but you're doing it with less budget and less organizational energy.
