18 years ago, I joined Facebook. Back then, the platform was young and growing. I helped recruit hundreds of friends, received a thank-you badge, and became what you might call an authentic OG account — with you since the very beginning. Over the years, Facebook became more than just a website for me. I was one of the few still taking the time to wish my contacts a happy birthday every year. I kept in touch with people I had met all over the years — friends, colleagues, acquaintances — some of whom I could only reach through Facebook. I was on Instagram before Meta acquired it, building a personal, chronological slideshow of my life over many years. Every picture, every story was a part of my history. Messenger was my go-to tool for private conversations with friends and family. Threads was a small bonus, but still part of my digital ecosystem. And now, all of that is gone. 🤯 My Facebook account, Messenger, Instagram, and Threads have all been deleted for a so-called “community standards violation” that I was never told about. No warning. No detail. No chance to identify or remove the alleged content. 😡 This is not just about losing access to platforms — it’s about losing connections and memories that can never be replaced. 😭 I will never be able to find and reconnect with everyone I met over the years. My Messenger conversations are gone forever. My Instagram life’s slideshow has vanished. 🫠 I am left with a mix of feelings: - To never use any Meta service again, because being removed like this after 18 years without even knowing why is infuriating, and makes you realize how much time you’ve invested in vain. - To create new accounts and simply start over. (Links Below) - Or to try to take action with an external organism to recover my accounts. In the meantime, I am posting this message in the hope that: - Someone at Meta sees it and can actually help me. - Or simply to warn others: you could lose everything you’ve built online — without any valid reason and without notice.
