#startupcornerpodcast What would a #European social network look like if it was built on trust, not algorithms and why does it matter today? In our latest episode, we welcome Christos FLOROS, founder of Monnett, to discuss his vision of building a new kind of social platform from Europe. During the conversation, Christos shares why the current #socialmedia landscape raises important questions around influence, control, and trust and why he believes Europe should take a more active role in shaping its own digital #ecosystems. We also explore the ambition behind Monett: creating a social network centered around real #connections, starting from your existing friend groups, and building a more human, trusted online environment. Beyond the product, Christos reflects on his entrepreneurial journey, the Luxembourg ecosystem, and why small countries can play a meaningful role in global #innovation. If you're interested in the future of social platforms, digital sovereignty in Europe, or building startups with strong values, this episode offers a thoughtful perspective. 🎧 Listen now: https://lnkd.in/eBQe3pHz

#Milestone Huge congrats to Helical on securing $10M to push the boundaries of AI-powered drug discovery. From Luxembourg to global #pharma, this is exactly the kind of trajectory we love to see. Proud to have them growing within our ecosystem and excited for what’s next!
Incredibly proud to announce: Helical just raised $10M to scale our virtual AI lab for pharma. There are over 10,000 known diseases that affect humans. Last year, the pharmaceutical industry got approval for roughly 50 new drugs. That's the bottleneck we set out to fix. Two years ago, Maxime, Mathieu, and I left our jobs with a conviction: biological foundation models will fundamentally change the way scientists discover drugs. Not because AI replaces researchers - but because it lets them test hypotheses computationally before spending months in a physical lab trying endless combinations. What was missing wasn't another model. It was a system scientists could actually use. So we built Helical - a virtual AI lab that transforms biological foundation models into reproducible discovery systems. An application layer where every scientist can run in-silico experiments at the speed of inference. As AI in pharma moves beyond proof of concepts, the winners won't just build better models - they'll build systems scientists can trust, run, and reproduce. Thankful to redalpine (Daniel, Marc), Gradient (Vig), Frst (Bruno), BoxGroup (Claire & Nimi), and incredible angels including Aidan Gomez, Ivan Zhang, Clem Delangue 🤗, Mario Götze and many more, for backing this mission. Most importantly - a huge thank you to the Helical team for your relentless dedication. Super proud to be working with you. Thank you, Axios (Katherine) & Forbes (David), for covering - links in the comments. We're hiring → https://lnkd.in/dT42N3rv

But what kind of startups really stand out? And what do you actually take away from the experience? We spoke with Olivia Borgue from Exobiosphere , who made the journey from Luxembourg to Silicon Valley, to share her insights: • What defines an “ideal” Startup World Cup candidate • The key differences between the Luxembourg and Silicon Valley stages • The biggest learnings and unexpected opportunities along the way Because beyond the competition, it’s about gaining perspective, building connections, and stepping into a much bigger arena. #Event On Friday, we had the pleasure of welcoming founders, startup teams, and key ecosystem players at the House of Startups for a dedicated exchange with the #EuropeanCommission. From the outset, the objective was clear: put entrepreneurs at the center of the conversation and ensure their voices directly feed into #Europe’s evolving #startup and #scaleup #strategy. The morning combined insights and dialogue: – Updates on EU and national initiatives, funding opportunities, and support services – Direct exchanges with European Commission representatives – Focused discussions on regulation, access to finance, and market expansion What stood out most was the openness of the discussions. Founders shared concrete challenges, opportunities, and expectations, exactly the kind of input needed to shape policies that truly reflect the realities on the ground. A big thank you to all speakers and contributors for making this exchange both insightful and actionable. And of course, to all founders who joined, your perspectives are what drive meaningful change. 🚀 European Commission Enterprise Europe Network - Luxembourg Représentation Permanente du Luxembourg auprès de l'Union européenne
