The forests beneath the waves have sustained fishing practices, cultural traditions, and entire ways of life. Which is why the Coastal Kelp restoration project feels different. Led by Veritree in partnership with the Sechelt First Nations, the project is restoring kelp forests in their traditional waters along Hotham Sound and Powell River in British Columbia, Canada. It's not just ecological restoration — it's cultural restoration. A return of something that has always belonged to the people who have cared for it.
