A huge thank you to our guest speaker, Valerio Pascucci, Professor at the University of Utah, for a fantastic presentation at our TRUST-AI Seminar Series.
In his talk, "The National Science Data Fabric and its evolution into a federated omnicloud for AI development," Valerio introduced the National Science Data Fabric (NSDF), a powerful cyberinfrastructure designed to support data-intensive scientific discovery at scale. He explored how NSDF integrates data, computing, and AI tools across public cloud and high-performance computing environments to enable seamless, FAIR data access for researchers.
Attendees gained valuable insights into key innovations including the ATLAS platform for federated learning, enabling secure collaboration across institutions without moving sensitive data. Valerio also highlighted real-world applications spanning climate science, national labs, autonomous systems, and precision medicine, demonstrating the broad societal impact of scalable AI infrastructure.
The talk concluded with a forward-looking discussion on making NSDF services domain-agnostic, opening the door for transformative applications in areas like manufacturing and materials science.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for this engaging and thought-provoking session!
