🗣 The 6G Smart Networks and Services Industry Association is happy to announce the 𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗮 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱❗️ During the General Assembly of March 16th, our 𝟰𝟬𝟬+ 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀 have exercised their right to vote for the association's leadership, electing a new Governing Board comprised of representatives from 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆, 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵, 𝗦𝗠𝗘𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀. The new GB, with a term of 3 years, is called to lead the 6G-IA towards the 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗡𝗦-𝗝𝗨 𝗝𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘆 and to pave the way for the next 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗲, keeping the priorities of the European Industry in focus and building a strong ecosystem that will deliver EU sovereign solutions. The 6G-IA office and all of its members would like to extend their s𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗴𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱, that led the association for the past 3 years and brought it to new levels of success! Hoe zorgen we ervoor dat Nederland dé plek is waar innovatieve techbedrijven kunnen groeien en bloeien? Die vraag stond vanmiddag centraal tijdens mijn ontmoeting met Constantijn Van Oranje-Nassau van Techleap. Techleap fungeert als aanjager voor het startup-ecosysteem en zet zich in om de (door)groei van startups en scale-ups te bevorderen. Daar moeten de randvoorwaarden voor op orde zijn: minder regeldruk, betrouwbaar en voorspelbaar beleid en voldoende toegang tot talent en financiering. Eén van de obstakels waar startups en scale-ups tegenaan lopen, is de kwalificatie 'Onderneming in Moeilijkheden'. Die zorgt ervoor dat het voor deze bedrijven lastiger wordt om subsidies en andere vormen van publieke financiering te krijgen. Ik heb vandaag de Tweede Kamer der Staten-Generaal geïnformeerd dat Nederland in Europa het voortouw neemt om hier verandering in te brengen. Ik trek namens Nederland met andere lidstaten op richting de Europese Commissie met een voorstel om dit snel, effectief en fundamenteel op te lossen. Zodat het voor startups en scale-ups makkelijker wordt om publieke financiering te verkrijgen. We werken nauw met Techleap samen op dit dossier. Het versterken van het ondernemingsklimaat voor startups en scale-ups heeft prioriteit voor het kabinet. Zij dragen bij aan ons verdienvermogen, aan het oplossen van maatschappelijke uitdagingen en aan onze economische weerbaarheid. Kortom: startups en scale-ups zijn cruciaal voor de brede welvaart van Nederland. Future Network Services liet afgelopen week op #EuCAP2026 in Dublin zien hoe Nederlandse #6G-innovatie het verschil maakt. Afgelopen week zijn tijdens de European Conference on Antennas and Propagation (EuCAP) in Dublin diverse nieuwe innovaties gepresenteerd vanuit het Future Network Services (FNS) consortium. Met circa 1500 deelnemers is EuCAP één van de grootste Europese conferenties op het gebied van antennetechnologie. Er was een grote delegatie vanuit het FNS‑programma aanwezig, met bijdrages van Eindhoven University of Technology, Delft University of Technology, TNO, ANTENNEX, The Antenna Company, NXP Semiconductors, Ericsson en Viasat. Ook vanuit het FNS‑coreteam – Bart Smolders  en Anouk Hubrechsen – zijn diverse activiteiten en samenwerkingen mede georganiseerd. Samen lieten we zien hoe onderzoekers, start‑ups en bedrijven elkaar als FNS-partners versterken in de ontwikkeling van innovatieve 6G‑oplossingen. Een mooi moment was de award voor Antennex, die werd uitgeroepen tot Most Promising Start‑up van de conferentie — een mooie erkenning voor hun innovatieve technologie en harde werk. Gefeliciteerd! Future Network Services is trots op wat we samen met VTT al hebben bereikt. Van een succesvolle #BVLOS-drone testvlucht in Oulu tot een gezamenlijke white paper over de stappen richting schaalbare en veilige dronevluchten op het platteland.

Telecoms infrastructure is increasingly targeted by state sponsored disruption and espionage. To address this, European telecoms providers are not only recalibrating their own security and resilience strategies, but also strengthening collaborative resilience planning across their supply chains. The underlying realisation is that nation state threats also extend to critical industries and services that telcos depend on, most notably the energy sector and key SaaS providers. This is reshaping how European telcos approach cybersecurity across their ecosystem. Technological progress won’t stop—now is the moment for open discussion so innovation can move forward.” This statement was made by VTT & FNS at today’s European Network of U-space Stakeholders Meeting in Helsinki: advancing Rural U‑space needs neutral, forward‑looking dialogue to reach the 2029 goal. We call for a pragmatic Rural U-space framework. Existing U-space models are designed for complex urban settings, yet rural airspace offers a quicker, lower-risk route to scaling drone operations.
