  • Unik dansk testfacilitet baner vejen for nye 5G-løsninger.

"Ships are surrounded by wind almost 24/7. It makes good sense to utilize that energy for greener transportation." As part of a recent project, we conducted wind tunnel testing on a 1:60 scale model of a rigid wingsail system developed in collaboration with Samsung Heavy Industries. Today, wingsails are primarily used in high-performance racing - for example on catamarans in SailGP. However, their potential extends far beyond that. By retrofitting cargo vessels with automated wingsail systems, the maritime industry could reduce fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions without compromising speed or operational reliability. "Wingsails can generate significant propulsion under favorable conditions. The objective of our study was to investigate aerodynamic interaction effects that may influence performance – including boundary layer effects and sail-to-sail interference," explains Casper Venlov, Wind Tunnel Engineer and Project Manager at FORCE Technology. Based on the initial test results, the team was able to optimize the angle configuration of each sail to mitigate these effects. These insights can support optimized operation of automated control systems in real-world applications. The results were further combined with global wind data along major shipping routes to assess the system's overall effectiveness. While exact performance figures remain confidential, the findings were highly encouraging.

What does it take to earn the label “military-grade”? In a short video prepared by FORCE Technology, you can see how and why our mobile air conditioners are tested at their facilities. Our units are tested to MIL-STD-810, the military standard used by NATO and defence organisations worldwide. This includes shock and vibration testing in all three axes, simulating thousands of kilometres of transport over rough terrain. The goal is simple: ensure the equipment remains fully operational even after extreme transport conditions — reflecting our strong focus on delivering products with the highest durability in field conditions. 🤝 Since we began this programme in 2009 together with FORCE Technology, testing has shaped how we design — leading to solutions such as rubber dampers, reinforced casings, internally secured pipework, and more. 📌 Independent, accredited testing is essential in our development process because it removes uncertainty and supports better design decisions.   See the testing in action with our Application Engineer Mikkel Haldrup Jensen: https://lnkd.in/dXhA_FgP #DanthermGroup #ForceTechnlogy #MilitaryTesting

  • New white paper: How IoT sensors can enable early detection of corrosion in reinforced concrete The world is building at an unprecedented pace as growing populations drive demand for housing and infrastructure. At the same time, many existing buildings are aging, and dangerous corrosion often goes undetected. Extending the lifetime of both new and existing structures is therefore critical - not only for safety and economic reasons but also to reduce the environmental impact. Concrete production already accounts for 8% of the global CO₂ emissions 🏭 In our new white paper, Ahmed, Abdul, Brian, and Brian explore how IoT-enabled, battery-less corrosion sensors can help achieve that by improving structural health monitoring. Read it for free and learn about: 🤖 Predictive maintenance - Using cloud data and AI to forecast and prevent damage 🏗️ Flexible deployment - Retrofit and embedded sensor options 📐 Implementation strategies - How sensors can be integrated into construction projects The paper is inspired by FORCE Technology’s ongoing work on the CorroSense project - a groundbreaking corrosion monitoring system being developed in collaboration between Danish universities, industry partners, and government agencies, with support from Innovationsfonden. 👉 Download it here: https://lnkd.in/eKTRAJes We would like to thank the Uddannelses- og Forskningsministeriet for supporting this white paper through our Resultatkontrakt.
