A day late, but #HappyEarthDay all! 🌎 (I was at a Zero Emissions Building Exchange | ZEIC Electrification Roadmap event yesterday, so I get a pass, right?! 😉 ) It’s been busy at Focal Engineering... earlier this week the whole team took a day out of the office to reflect on the past year, dig into where we are right now, and start shaping what comes next. What stuck with me was not just the time we spent working on the business, but the break we took in the middle to step outside, connect with nature, and reset before the afternoon. Our Earth, our home, is everything, and connecting to it as we planned our shared future was important. I feel privileged to do work that has meaning, and I don’t take that lightly. The event begins at 1:00pm and with presentations by the authors and industry experts. High performance starts early. In addition to the BC Energy Step Code, the Concert Properties Centre for Trades and Technology is pursuing high energy efficiency and low embodied carbon under LEED and Zero Carbon Building certification standards.
