Parametric risk transfer that relies solely on excess rainfall triggers leaves policyholders exposed. Floodbase closes that gap. Excess rainfall is one of the most common triggers in parametric insurance, but peer-reviewed research shows it explains under 35% of actual flood property damage. Don't just take our word for it; three peer-reviewed studies make the case, as analysed in this recent article by Beth Tellman, PhD. Read the full story on our blog 🔗 in comments.

Floodbase just launched a new capability enabling instant parametric flood quoting for insurers in the U.S. Historically, parametric flood quoting has been slow and manual. Our new Quote API allows carriers to generate flood history instantly and integrate it into their own pricing models, enabling real-time broker quoting and new embedded flood products. Excited to see Liberty Mutual Insurance already deploying this capability.
🚀 Today, we're launching the Floodbase Quote API, enabling insurers and MGAs to collapse weeks of manual quoting cycles for large area parametric flood into instant workflows. ⚡ Because of this expansion of the Floodbase Platform, carriers can now equip brokers with tools that instantly generate standardized quotes for parametric flood covers. Liberty Mutual is already using it in broker workflows. 🗺️ The Floodbase Quote API also unlocks entirely new parametric flood products previously limited by a manual, location-by-location design process. Now, carriers and MGA's can partner with Floodbase and design large, geographically distributed portfolio solutions – from embedded add-ons to reinsurance solutions – covering thousands of locations in the U.S. simultaneously. 🏛️ Join the elite group of insurers using Floodbase to simplify the complex and make flood insurance truly scalable. Whether you're looking to serve specific clients or launch a full program, our team is ready to partner with you. I’m excited to speak at Insuretech Insights Europe 2026 in London on March 19. I’ll be sharing the stage with Victor Bouton to speak about how Floodbase partners with Liberty Mutual Reinsurance to enable flood risk transfer at scale. Our premise is simple - parametric insurance provides transparent policies that pay out near instantaneously, why should the quoting process not also be transparent, instantaneous and customizable ? So we created a platform for brokers which removes all the back and forth and provides effective flood cover in the United States at the click of a button. If your broker is already onboarded, you can request a parametric flood policy when Victor and I start speaking at 10:30 AM on Thursday, March 19th and have an non-binding indication by the time we get off the stage (for the majority of cases). Looking forward to connecting live in London. Join us at Insurtech Insights Europe: https://lnkd.in/e424vvFb #InsurtechInsights #Insurtech #InsuranceInnovation #ITIEU26 Kristoffer Lundberg

Floodbase has mapped all flooding in King County for the last 45 years and has been monitoring the current flooding. Below is a map of this week’s inundation and the daily size of the flooding. We will be posting more information on how this event impacted each town in the county and the other parts of the state. If you are a local government official who needs extra data, reach out.
