  • Just back from Vienna — the headquarters of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) … with some big news! 🤩 FixFirst - Make Repair Happen has been invited to join the Global Electronics Management (GEM) Program which is designed to advance the circular economy for electronics and is funded by Global Environment Facility (GEF), led by UNIDO in partnership with African Development Bank Group, UNDP and UN Environment Programme. A few facts that show the scale of this initiative: 🌍 16 countries ⏰ 6-year global program (2026–2031) 💰 ~US$ 60 M combined funding 💪 Co-financing indicated at ~US$ 360 M The global electronics system is still built on a broken default: produce → consume → discard. Recycling helps, but it’s not the solution — circularity including repair is. 🙌 What excites us most: in many GEM countries, repair ecosystems never disappeared. Skills, culture, and real repair economics are still alive. At the same time, without the right systems in place, even these markets risk eroding. GEM is a chance to both learn from what works today and make repair a durable, scalable pillar of a truly circular electronics economy. FixFirst will be helping turn GEM into execution through repair incentives, AI-supported diagnosis, repair booking & workflow infrastructure, quality and impact reporting, and a scalable data/API layer for repair intelligence, right-to-repair compliance and more. 🛠 The program countries include: Botswana, Cambodia, Colombia, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Eswatini, Kazakhstan, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia, Peru, the Philippines, Somalia, South Africa, Türkiye, and Viet Nam. We’ll be contributing alongside an impressive group of partners, including: Accenture, Closing the Loop, Global Electronics Council (GEC), GreenForest Solutions GmbH, HP, iFixit, Lenovo, Minimise, Norwegian Institute for Air Research (NILU), Palsa & Pulk (The E-Waste Column), Sustainable Electronics Recycling International (SERI), and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). 🙌 We’re proud to be part of this group and excited for what’s ahead. Personally, I feel deeply humbled and grateful to contribute to tackling such a global challenge — and to help shape the circular transition! 💚 🔗 Learn more: https://lnkd.in/dA8PAhvy #RightToRepair #CircularEconomy #GreenIndustry  #Repair #Circularity #Ewaste #Electronics #UNIDO #GEF #FixFirst #Electronics #Impact #BRSConventions

  • 2026 is the year we will make repair happen! 💪🛠 Over the past year, we tested, launched and adjusted new ideas, which led to a clear strategy. And yes, our new slogan: FixFirst - Make Repair Happen. Which is exactly what we do and what our customers can do using our solutions. 🙌 In 2025, we introduced a new platform model with fix1.today - designed as infrastructure that others can use to launch and scale repair. After smaller tests, the first large-scale implementation followed quickly: London’s first repair voucher program, built together with The Restart Project, ReLondon and the North London Waste Authority. From there, demand grew. We expanded beyond electronics into fashion & textiles, launching the Berlin Repair Deal with Circular Berlin. This week, we’ll be at Berlin Fashion Week as part of the 202030 Think & Do Tank white paper and exhibition by studio MM04. Along the way, we worked with cities, NGOs, policymakers and industry - and spoke at events such as EU Green Week, BMUKN formats, RepairCon, FixFest, IFA, Circular Valley, Impact Festival, ChangeNOW and others. The common theme: everyone agrees repair must scale - but how? 👀 We also saw growing attention from the startup ecosystem: we were among the winners of The Drop 50, naming us one of Europe’s most promising climate tech startups, and were featured in the ESCP Business School Founders Report as a change maker incl. an interview with me. 🚀 In December, something special happened. Our platform model won the Bundespreis Ecodesign | German Ecodesign Award - as a concrete example of how the Right-to-Repair can be implemented in practice. The award was given by BMUKN, UBA and IDZ — reinforcing that repair policy needs execution infrastructure. 🎉 So why 2026? In July, the #RighttoRepair will enter into force in the EU. In Germany, the BGB will introduce a new paragraph: Reparaturpflicht. This will reshape a trillion-euro industry and make most electronics and appliances more repairable. 🤓 That’s why we’re preparing the next step: compliance tools, repairability checks, and a new platform architecture that can scale across Europe and beyond, including a multinational project we’ll announce soon. 🌍 Repair works - if you make it easy and worth it. Our platform already shows what’s possible: - modular architecture & white-label solution - thousands of repair requests processed - 70% MoM growth - 4.8★ rating - NPS 85 Which leads to what we’re introducing today: zircls. ➰ zircls turns repair vouchers into a continuous incentive system. Members can earn up to €500 in repair vouchers by choosing repair, second-hand or refurbished - and by prioritising more repairable products when buying new. Brands, cities and repairers can offer zircls and combine it with their own incentives. Powered by AI agents. 🤖 More at https://zircls.com/ — with a detailed announcement next week. 🤩 The regulation is coming. The tools exist. Now it’s time to #makerepairhappen Back to work. 😉

  • 🌍✨ Berlin takes the lead on textiles! We’re excited to share that with the launch of the REPAIR DEAL, Berlin has introduced the first bonus scheme for textile repair - initiated by Circular Berlin and powered by us! 👕♻️ After enabling London’s electronics program, we’re now proud to host Berlin’s textile program on our platform - another step towards making repair the new normal across Europe: from Berlin to London and Textiles to Electronics. Why textiles, why now? With the new EU Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR) and upcoming Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) requirements, cities and companies face growing pressure to keep textiles in circulation. Repair can save up to 82% CO₂ compared to buying new - making it a crucial lever for climate action. 👉 Together, we’re turning repair into essential urban infrastructure - and accelerating Europe’s circular transition. 🚀

𝗢𝗻 𝟭𝟴 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿, 𝗖𝗶𝗿𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗕𝗲𝗿𝗹𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 FixFirst - The OS for Circular Services & Products 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗹𝗮𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗿 𝗗𝗲𝗮𝗹, 𝗮 𝗽𝗶𝗹𝗼𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗘𝗨 𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 SOLSTICE Its goal: to make repair an attractive and accessible choice for Berliners and to build a model for circular fashion systems in cities. The Repair Deal was developed through a multi-stakeholder workshop with fashion brands Givn Berlin, DAWN Denim, Blutsgeschwister GmbH & IRIEDAILY, repair services, and city representatives. Together, we explored central questions: How can small and medium-sized fashion brands comply with upcoming EU requirements on product repairability? How can Berlin’s local repair ecosystem become stronger and more resilient, with prices that reflect both fair wages and consumer expectations? And how can we build a repair community that benefits brands, services, and society equally – making repair a truly attractive alternative to buying new? From this exchange, two priorities became clear: financial incentives for consumers and subsidies for repair businesses are key which led to the creation of our 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗿 𝗕𝗼𝗻𝘂𝘀: 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗿 𝗗𝗲𝗮𝗹. And community engagement will be decisive. Over the next 14 months, we will therefore organize three Pop-Up Weeks with Repair Days to bring the repair community together and keep the conversation moving forward. With the Repair Deal, Berliners can get their jeans repaired at half the price through a simple voucher system that connects them with local tailors. In this way, the project combines individual incentives with systemic impact: extending product lifespans, reducing environmental footprints, and keeping value creation within the local tailoring sector. For Circular Berlin, the Repair Deal contributes directly to our strategic impact areas: – Circular consumption by encouraging people to repair rather than replace – Local value creation by strengthening small tailoring businesses – Urban circular systems by piloting a repair incentive model that can scale citywide By linking environmental benefits with local economic support, the Repair Deal shows how cities can take concrete steps towards a more circular urban society. 👀 As a multi-stakeholder initiative, we are looking for partners and sponsors to grow this project further. If you are working on the future of urban fashion, repair, or circular solutions 👉 let’s connect! Please reach out to Sarah Keller, who leads this project and is happy to discuss next steps. #circularberlin #circulartextiles #repairdeal #circularsociety

  • Cheers to the future! 🚀🎉🛠️♻️ After #FixFest in London and #IFA Berlin – two repair and industry events that couldn’t be different – 3 things became clear: 👉 Hope is there. 👉 Repair is everywhere. 👉 Change is inevitable. But the most amazing thing was to see the progress of the repair movement: 🌍 Global communities – from London to the US, Australia, Canada, Germany, India and beyond. 🌈 Diversity of actors – from repair cafés and NGOs to retailers, insurers, and professional repair service providers. 🎉 Better policies – with Right to Repair and the Ecodesign Directive moving forward, and the compliance clock ticking. 🤖 New technologies – from AI and platforms to smart service tools. ✨ Innovative tools & materials – fresh hacks and approaches ready to hit the market. 🛠 New places – for repair like the amazing fixing factories as a growing solution. 📈 Recommerce growth – outpacing traditional retail. 📢 Circularity going mainstream – with investments proving more resilient than linear ones. 💪 Challenges – yes, they're there: 2 steps forward, sometimes 3, 1 step backwards, sometimes 2... but the trajectory speaks for itself! At FixFest London, it was great to meet everyone again behind the scenes of the voucher programs – ReLondon, The Restart Project – as well as many of the participating repairers who make this vision a reality every day. Also at FixFest, we hosted a workshop on how #AI can empower #repair, from smarter diagnostics to connecting communities and services. The discussions showed just how much potential lies ahead in combining human repair skills with intelligent tools. At IFA Berlin, the Cradle to Cradle NGO (C2C NGO) – the lead partner of the fair – invited us FixFirst - The OS for Circular Services & Products to speak on stage with the session “Closing the Loop – How AI and Smart Circular Services Turn Repair Regulation into Growth for Brands.” Their partnership with IFA marks a joint commitment to sustainable and future-proof consumer electronics, showing how deeply circularity is now embedded in the industry agenda. Looking forward to see more of this - much needed at an event that makes you doubt the relevance of many products that are there any one that stretches the amount of buzzwords you can take per day 😵💫 The future of repair is unfolding right now. 🔧🌍 Glad to shape it with many, including Ugo Vallauri Fiona Dear Rachel Singer Kyle Wiens Leanne Wiseman Steffen Vangerow Tom Hansing Thorsten Krix Aaron Weyrauch Ulf Buscher Dr. Lennart Osthoff Fynn Wolken Tim Janßen Nora Sophie Griefahn Carsten Waldeck and many more! Cheers! 🥂
