Many important art dealer archives 🗃️ are now located in the U.S., and many documents related to art collectors who emigrated from Europe since 1933 are held in the National Archives. We work with experts on the ground 📍 — who can also examine #archives holding documents in 🇩🇪, 🇳🇱 or 🇫🇷 as well as English. For research in the US, we partner with Taylor Research Group 🔎, experts with over 20 years of experience. Did you know that in 1943 the US Treasury required two asset declarations? Americans reported property held abroad (Form TFR-500), and foreign nationals in the US reported property here (Form TFR-300). Both could list #artworks owned by émigrés from Europe or by art dealers — and the forms are held at the National Archives. Facts & Files is the expert on historical research, provenance research, archive management and History Communication. We are combining academic expertise with efficiency and due dilligence. Facts & Files has been conducting historical research, provenance research, and archive management since 1999. We research, plan websites on historical topics, interview contemporary witnesses, write expert reports and books, organize projects internationally, curate exhibitions, clear licenses and manage archives. Our service portfolio includes research, presentation of historical topics to the public, and our archival services. We are working not only in Germany, but also worldwide. Here is a brief overview: Facts & Files develops plans for strategic research (to know where to look for), produces research results digital and as databases, checks historical and biographical facts, transcribes documents, edits pictures, and produces oral history interviews. We are drafting projects designs for History Communication, working as consultants and are organizing events, especially crowdsourcing collecting days. Also, we are archiving various materials, from photos over footage to records and digital files and producing finding aids. We are supporting archives to present their holdings online to the public. Facts & Files is commissioned by museums, families and lawyers to conduct provenance research on works of arts, books, objects and assets. The results of our work are presented online, in exhibitions, as a book or in expert reports.

#HistorischeNachbarn in #Pankow: 1998 wurde in der Pestalozzistraße die Szene im Wehrkreiskommando der NVA für „Sonnenallee" (1999) gedreht. Das Wehrkreiskommando war 1974 (Hausnr. 3-5) gebaut worden. Das Gebäude steht nicht mehr, seit einiger Zeit ist dort ein Seniorenheim.🗃️ #history #geschichte #historians
