EUPHA welcomes the cross-party call of 70 MEPs on the European Commission to restore operating grants for health civil society organisations under the EU4Health Programme. This push reflects growing political momentum, also reflected by a similar call from 13 Member States, recognising the vital role NGOs and patient organisations play in shaping effective, inclusive EU health policy. The removal of core funding has already had serious consequences, including reduced capacity, highlighting that project-based funding cannot replace stable structural support. Ahead of the expected publication of the EU4Health 2026 Work Programme, stakeholders are urging the Commission to act, ensure sustainable funding, and strengthen transparency and inclusiveness in EU health priorities. We would like to thank our members and sections for their advocacy work. Yet climate-informed dermatology education remains limited in many medical curricula.
