Search behavior is changing fast for home service contractors. Homeowners are no longer relying only on typed Google searches. They are asking full questions through voice assistants, uploading images to find similar services, and using AI tools to compare local providers. That means traditional SEO alone is not enough. To stay visible, contractors need content that answers real homeowner questions clearly, images that are properly labeled and contextual, schema markup that helps search engines understand services and locations, and a brand presence that sends consistent trust signals across the web. At Elevation Marketing™, we help established home service businesses prepare for this next layer of discovery with human-first strategy, structured content, and long-game visibility. #HomeServices #ContractorMarketing #SEO #AEO #GEO #VoiceSearch #VisualSearch #AISEO #LocalSEO #DigitalMarketing Read the full blog: https://lnkd.in/dsqFeZaP

Heard the noise about the update to Google Reviews and the fear mongering if reviews mention an employee? Check out Devon Hayes's latest post on Google Reviews facts and myths. #LocalSEO #GBP #GoogleReviews https://lnkd.in/gWAp6yGG
Google Reviews are acting like Marsha doubting Jan. The Rating Manipulation Policy was updated early in Q2, and it boils down to one simple truth: Google Reviews no longer trust identifiable patterns. "Why'd you get so many reviews at the same time, pinging from the same cell tower?" "Ohhhh, I see a name mentioned, followed by the exact service, followed by the exact location in 70% of your reviews? Suuuuure it's not a coerced, scripted review. "No reviews for 3 months then 45 in 30 days? And you're telling me they're authentic? Sure, Jan." The Rating Manipulation Policy was updated early in Q2 and it boils down to Google Reviews not trusting identifiable patterns in your reviews. From the timestamps between reviews that arrive clusters, to an identifiable pattern in the reviews themselves, Google is looking for inauthentic, incentivized reviews and filtering them from your GBP. 🦄 Myth: If an employee name is mentioned, the review doesn't count. ✅ Fact: Organic shoutouts to helpful staff are 100% ok and will be published. When a human is named in a detectable pattern, Google's AI spam filters hold the reviews or even delete existing reviews found to match a pattern. 🦄 Myth: You can no longer do review campaigns that trigger mass reviews at the same time. ✅ Fact: The influx of reviews will be analyzed for spam-like patterns (IP address, cell tower proximity, language templates, and timestamp clustering) under Google's new Extended Scrutiny Period. If your velocity spike is too high, Google will actively pause new reviews from appearing on your profile or slap a public warning banner on your GBP. 👉 Safer Play: Avoid the massive, single-day email blasts. Break your data lists up and drip your review requests out on a rolling weekly basis instead. 🦄 Myth: Having technicians ask for reviews at the homeowners house is the best way to get reviews. ✅ Fact: Depending on how many reviews you get in a day, the time between reviews and the device on which the review was sent--this could be seen as review clustering and be a red flag. Google is penalizing any company that pressures homeowners or weaponizes reviews against staff. In Google's eyes, that what review clustering can represent. As long as you are authentically generating reviews, and not gating the review link to only happy customers, you're golden. However, if you're trying to game the system and get caught, consequences are brutal: 🚨🚨🚨 1. Mass sweeping removal of existing reviews. 2. Your GBP will lose the ability to gain new reviews. 3. A public warning banner directly on your GBP that your profile has obtained inauthentic reviews. 4. GBP suspension Amanda Joyce and I have a podcast coming out on this topic next week where we dive into this a bit more. What are you guys seeing out there in the wild? #LocalSEO #GBP #DigitalMarketing #ReputationManagement

One of the biggest differences between paid media and SEO is what remains after the work is done. With paid campaigns, you keep the historical data and campaign structure, but once spend stops, the lead flow from those ads typically stops too. SEO is different when it’s built the right way. Strong organic strategy creates assets the business owns: content, authority, local relevance, trust signals, and visibility that can continue to compound over time. There is always work required to sustain and improve performance, especially as search, AI, and homeowner behavior evolve. But the foundation does not disappear. That is why we believe SEO should be more than a checklist. It should build long-term visibility, trust, and brand equity that supports the business well beyond a single campaign cycle. #SEO #HomeServiceMarketing #DigitalMarketing #LocalSEO #ContractorMarketing #BrandTrust Watch the full podcast episode now: https://lnkd.in/d-jxvwA3

The “easy button” sounds great. Write a check. Get leads. Dominate Google Maps. Win the local 3-pack. But for home service contractors, that is not how sustainable digital marketing works. If an agency is selling you instant results without your involvement, it is worth asking: What are they actually building? How are they earning homeowner trust? Are they improving your brand presence across the web? Can they show clear reporting tied to real business opportunities? Local SEO, AEO, GEO, and AI-driven search are not about chasing acronyms. They are about building a brand that homeowners can find, trust, and choose when it matters. That is the real work. Most businesses don’t have a marketing problem. They have a timing problem. PPC, SEO, and hybrid marketing models all have a place, but they are not designed to work on the same timeline. PPC is built for speed. SEO is built for compounding visibility. A hybrid model connects both so your business can generate leads now while building long-term trust, authority, and branded relevance. For home service contractors, this matters because homeowners are not making decisions in one place anymore. They are comparing your website, Google Business Profile, reviews, local search results, paid ads, social presence, and AI-influenced answers before they ever contact you. That means your marketing investment should not just chase clicks. It should help your business become easier to find, easier to trust, and easier to choose. In our latest blog, we break down: • When PPC makes sense • Why SEO is a long-term growth investment • How a hybrid model reduces overreliance on paid traffic • The mistakes businesses make when timelines and expectations are misaligned • How to decide where your marketing budget should go next If your marketing feels reactive, inconsistent, or hard to measure, this article will help you think more clearly about what each channel is supposed to do. What path are you sending your customers on? 🤔 Most home services owners only run “book now” ads at people who’ve never heard of them. That’s like proposing on a first date. 💍 Here’s the path that actually works: 🔹 Top — they need to KNOW you exist. Blogs, helpful content, showing your work. 🔹 Middle — they need to TRUST you. Your website, reviews, before-and-afters, real results. 🔹 Bottom — NOW they’re ready to book. Skip to the bottom and you pay more for worse leads, because you’re asking cold strangers to buy. Build the top and middle first, and the bottom takes care of itself. So — what path are YOU sending your customers on? 👇 📩 DM us the word “PATH” and we’ll map out where your customers are actually dropping off (and how to fix it).
