Introducing the Qualcomm Dragonwing Visual Inspection Suite, from Edge Impulse — a complete, end‑to‑end AI-based computer vision solution built for Industry 4.0. Enterprises are under pressure to detect defects earlier, reduce labor costs, and increase throughput. Most “AI solutions” promise this. Very few deliver it out‑of‑the‑box. This one does. Built in collaboration with leaders in edge AI software, MLOps, and industrial IoT hardware, the Qualcomm Dragonwing Visual Inspection Suite brings together: • Qualcomm Dragonwing QCS6490 chipset • Qualcomm Hexagon 770 AI acceleration • Industrial‑grade camera options from Advantech and CODICO GmbH • Linux-based OS • Native Edge Impulse integration for labeling, training, deploying, and monitoring AI models The result: a fully integrated, enterprise‑grade system that lets quality teams deploy computer vision in days, not months. Key use cases: • OCR & label inspection • Defect detection • Assembly verification If you’re building a smart quality management strategy and need a scalable, rugged, end‑to‑end solution, this is the only offering on the market that covers the full workflow, from sensors to software to compute to monitoring. Check out the latest update from our Campus Ambassadors, this installment from Ashley Nicole Leal. (Read all about our Campus Ambassador program here: https://lnkd.in/d28rDXCJ). We're thrilled to have these students representing Edge Impulse and promoting the incredible power of edge AI. ----------- At the recent #MakeUofT, Canada’s largest hardware hackathon with over 300 student participants, I had the opportunity to organize, support, and judge the "Best Use of Edge Impulse" track. While participants built across Music & Audio, Survival, and Valentine’s Day themes, the hackathon focused specifically on teams pushing the boundaries of edge AI on real hardware. To qualify, teams had to: 🔹 Collect and label their own dataset 🔹 Train and optimize a model using Edge Impulse 🔹 Deploy the model to a microcontroller such as Arduino, #STM32, or #ESP32 🔹 Demonstrate real time, on device inference physically driving hardware The goal was to recognize strong technical integration from data collection to deployment and highlight machine learning systems that run efficiently and independently at the edge. Each member of the winning team received an Arduino UNO Q for demonstrating exceptional on device implementation. 🏆 🎉 Winning project: Buzz Kill, a non-visual perimeter guard designed to detect and classify environmental threats through seismic activity, keeping campers safe at night. "The high danger data is further analyzed using an AI model trained with Edge Impulse, which classifies the situation as low, medium, or high priority." Their takeaway? "We gained experience training and deploying AI models using Edge Impulse and learned the importance of collecting clean, well-labeled datasets." You can check it out here: https://lnkd.in/edPVtF5W Huge thank you to the IEEE University of Toronto Student Branch team for making this weekend possible, and to the teams who took on the challenge of building intelligent systems under real hardware constraints. Seeing students design, train, and deploy working edge AI systems in just 24 hours is a strong reminder of how accessible and powerful embedded machine learning has become. #EdgeAI #TinyML #EmbeddedSystems #MachineLearning #MakeUofT #EdgeImpulse #Hackathon Qualcomm Qualcomm Dragonwing

Most prototypes don’t fail. They stall at the handoffs. Arduino VENTUNO Q is a new on‑ramp into the Qualcomm Dragonwing ecosystem - bringing real‑time AI, production‑shaped compute, and a path that holds when projects move past the demo. Watch Marcello and David explain how teams are building with continuity in mind. #edgeai #embedded #iot
