Our first People Planet Pint™ in Braunton was a great success – so we’re doing it again. Join us for Round 2 of the relaxed local meetup at The Black Horse, 34 Church St (7:30–9:30pm). No pitches, no panels, no pressure – just an informal space to connect with others across North Devon who care about climate, sustainability and nature. Whether it’s part of your work, your volunteering, or just something you’re curious about, this is a welcoming place to chat, share ideas and meet like-minded people. Building stronger local connections is key to tackling the climate crisis – and it can start with something as simple as a conversation over a drink. Come along 👍 #PeoplePlanetPint #Braunton

About us
Earth Action North Devon is a local charity (Reg No: 1182464) on a mission to protect and improve our environment through community action. We launched with a simple aim: to tackle plastic pollution head-on by raising awareness, reducing consumption and clearing waste from the environment. Our remit has since evolved and expanded. Through education, events, campaigns and networks, today we’re dedicated to inspiring reconnection with nature, driving sustainable behaviour change and accelerating environmental action across North Devon to foster a healthier relationship between people and the natural world.

Last week, we had the privilege of taking North Devon's repair community to the Houses of Parliament. Alongside Sue Williamson from the High Bickington & Atherington Repair Cafe, Anne-Marie Eveleigh from EAND joined representatives from over 100 repair cafes across the UK for a landmark event hosted by The Restart Project and Back Market, making the case that repair and reuse deserves a place at the heart of national policy. The timing matters. The UK Government is developing its Circular Economy Growth Plan, and the repair movement wanted to ensure our voices were heard. The Repair and Reuse Declaration (now signed by our local MP Ian Roome) calls for concrete steps: removing VAT on repair services, extending the Right to Repair to all consumer products, and supporting a new generation of trained repairers. The public appetite is there. 80% of people in the UK support VAT removal on repairs. 85% want Right to Repair extended to all devices. This is not a niche issue. What the day reminded us is that community-led change and national policy change aren't separate things. They reinforce each other. The repair cafes of North Devon are part of a movement that just paid a visit to Westminster, and we'll keep making the case. Turning endurance into impact: Fundraising places are open for the 2026 Croyde Ocean Triathlon We’re offering unlimited fundraising entries for just £20, giving athletes the opportunity to turn their training into tangible environmental and community impact. One of our 2026 fundraisers, Jack (pictured), recently moved to North Devon and says he feels incredibly lucky to live alongside this coastline. He’s completed marathons before, but this will be his first Olympic distance triathlon. Jack is fundraising for Earth Action North Devon, helping protect the beaches and ocean that make this event so special. He’s also chosen to support Thames Hospice, who provided end-of-life care for a close friend of his last year. That’s what the Fundraiser Ticket is about. Connecting personal challenge with personal purpose. Two fundraising options: • EAND Fundraiser Ticket – Raise a minimum of £200 for Earth Action North Devon • 50/50 Ticket – Raise a minimum of £350 and split funds between EAND and any charity of your choice All fundraisers receive structured support, access to the EAND Fundraisers Tent on race day, and of course plenty of encouragement from the sidelines. The highest overall fundraiser will receive a free 2027 entry and a Croyde Ocean drybag. Remember, you don’t have to tackle the whole triathlon solo — grab some friends or colleagues and enter as a relay team! If you are taking part in 2026, consider racing with purpose... We’re very pleased to share this news. We are incredibly grateful to Ian Roome MP for tabling an Early Day Motion in Parliament to recognise the work of Earth Action North Devon, and to the 12 other MPs who have signed in support. This Motion highlights the impact of our community’s environmental leadership throughout 2025, from engaging over 1,500 volunteers and collecting 2.4 tonnes of waste across more than 40 clean-ups, to championing sustainable action with local schools, businesses and community groups. Thank you to Ian Roome, and to all the MPs who have backed this important recognition of grassroots environmental action. Your support helps raise the profile of community-led efforts to protect our beautiful local environment for future generations. You can read the full Motion here: https://lnkd.in/ejAKgqnC #ThankYou #EarthActionNorthDevon #NorthDevon
