  • Public funding is shifting, and private finance is stepping in. But one issue that continues to hold progress back is coherence across decisions. In part two of her latest blog, DT Global Europe Managing Director Maria Garron shares insights from more than two decades in development financing, debt sustainability, and public-private partnerships. And that the challenge is not the tools themselves, but the disconnect between policy, fiscal planning, and investment decisions. When these come together, projects become more realistic, more affordable, and more likely to deliver. It is not about choosing a financing instrument in isolation. It is about whether the approach fits a country’s fiscal path and development goals. Read more from Maria on why coherence matters and what it takes to get it right: https://lnkd.in/eTFefuyZ #WeAreDTGlobal #DevelopmentFinance #PublicPrivatePartnerships

  • DT Global joined the EU–Ethiopia Business Forum 2026 in Addis Ababa, represented by Ana Sánchez Canales, alongside partners shaping the future of trade and investment. As global financing evolves, forums like this highlight the importance of turning strategy into action. Discussions focused on how the EU Global Gateway can catalyze practical, inclusive growth across key sectors. Key developments included: - A €1.4 billion European Union and African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) investment framework to support regional integration. - Growing investment across agribusiness, clean energy, and digital transformation. - A €150 million Digital Economy Package to expand infrastructure, skills, and governance. - A €269 million RISE programme to strengthen electricity systems, including upgrades to the Ashegoda wind farm and 2,500 km of fibre optic cable. For DT Global, we’re proud to be bridging the gap between ambition and execution by working with partners to deliver investments that are inclusive, sustainable, and built to last. #WeAreDTGlobal #EUEthiopia #GlobalGateway

  • “If you were suffocated even for a moment, you would understand its importance.” That message from Dr. Marion Nakyeyune, Principal Medical Officer in Uganda’s Ministry of Health, grounded an Oxygen-as-a-Service workshop in Jinja last month. Because this isn’t just about oxygen supply; it’s about whether oxygen actually reaches patients when they need it. Through our FCDO-funded Better Futures CoLab, DT Global and Brink, alongside the Ministry of Health, UNICEF, and partners, brought together leaders to tackle a critical gap in oxygen supply. Uganda has made real progress, with more than 40 PSA oxygen plants installed nationwide. But one point was clear. Production alone doesn’t save lives. Without strong systems for distribution, maintenance, and financing, oxygen doesn’t reach the bedside. We’re working with partners to turn lessons from COVID-19 into lasting systems that deliver when it matters most. • What can Angola learn from Brazil about making it easier for small businesses to grow? During a seven-day study visit to Brasília, Angolan officials explored how simplified tax systems can support business formalization and economic inclusion. The visit was part of our PREI programme, funded by the European Commission, and brought together representatives from across government, including planning, finance, and territorial administration. Working alongside Brazil’s Sebrae, the Revenue Service, and the Ministry of Entrepreneurship, the delegation took a closer look at the Single Simplified Tax model and how a similar approach could be adapted in Angola. Why Brazil? Its experience designing tax systems for micro and small enterprises offers practical lessons that are both relevant and scalable. Over the course of the week, participants: • Explored how business formalization works in practice • Learned how complex tax systems can be made more accessible • Built connections with Brazilian institutions leading this work Beyond the technical insights, the visit also offered a clearer picture of how tax simplification can unlock opportunities for small businesses and strengthen economic participation. #WeAreDTGlobal #TaxPolicy #SMEs
