  • “Labour Day is a time for recognition, reflection, and renewal. Work is both a gift and a responsibility, nothing meaningful can be achieved without it. The ability to work is a blessing that should never be taken for granted. Through our work, we build better lives, support our loved ones, invest in ourselves, and uphold our dignity. As we mark this Labour Day, let us also reflect on purpose, are we growing through our work, and are we fulfilled?” Violette Uwamutara to DOT Rwanda staff during #LabourDay2026 celebrations.

  • We are proud to mark a key milestone under the Digital Skills for Employability #DSEProgram with the graduation of our first cohort of Digital Champions and Business Coaches, a group of committed young leaders driving transformation across Rwanda. A total of 99 Digital Champions and Business Coaches successfully completed the Youth Leadership Program (2025-20206), playing a critical role as frontline implementers across 20 districts. Through structured training, mentorship, and coaching, they have collectively reached and empowered over 3,800 youth with practical digital and entrepreneurial skills, supporting their transition into employment, entrepreneurship, hence dignified and fillfiling work. This cohort demonstrated strong leadership by mobilizing youth engaged in necessity-driven businesses and delivering a comprehensive learning experience covering digital literacy, business planning, Business Model Canvas, social media marketing, and essential soft skills. Trainings were conducted through youth centers and community spaces, complemented by personalized coaching at participants’ workplaces, ensuring practical application and relevance. The graduation also provided space for reflection and learning, with powerful testimonies shared by participants including a young woman, a refugee, and a youth with a disability highlighting not only skills gained, but confidence built, businesses strengthened, and opportunities unlocked. These stories reaffirm the program’s strong commitment to inclusion, ensuring that rural youth, young women, persons with disabilities, and refugees are meaningfully engaged and supported. In addition, graduates participated in a job readiness and employment linkage session, equipping them with tools to better navigate the labor market, position themselves for opportunities, and pursue both employment and entrepreneurship pathways. As this cohort graduates, their role does not end here. They have committed to continue mentoring and supporting the youth they engaged, reinforcing a sustainable model of peer-led impact and community-driven growth. We extend our sincere appreciation to all partners who joined us in celebrating this milestone and continue to support youth empowerment efforts, including the DSE Program partners, BPN, Umurava Work, the Ministry in charge of Emergency Management, and the Ministry of Youth and Arts. Together, we are building a future where young people are not only skilled but equipped, connected, and empowered to thrive. #DSEProgram #DOTYouth #Graduation #YouthEmpowerment #DigitalSkills #Inclusion

Liliane from Digital Opportunity Trust (DOT) Rwanda reminds us of the true meaning of #GiveToGain 💜 "The campaign encourages each of us to intentionally give something meaningful to support and uplift women and girls, whether by sharing knowledge, mentoring, encouraging someone, or promoting women-led initiatives. Through these actions, we collectively gain stronger networks, empowered communities, and greater opportunities for women to thrive." As we celebrate International Women’s Day all month, let it be a reminder that every act of support contributes to building a more inclusive and equitable future. #IWD2026 #DOTYouth

  • We are proud to mark a major milestone as we graduate the first cohort of Digital Champions and Business Coaches, young leaders who have been at the forefront of driving digital and business transformation across communities in Rwanda. Over the past months, 99 Digital Champions (including youth with disabilities and refugees) have trained and supported 3,850+ youth across 20 districts, equipping them with practical digital and entrepreneurial skills. From training on developing Business Plans, Business Model Canvas and social media marketing to hands-on coaching, soft skills among others, their impact is already visible youth are growing businesses, attracting new customers, and accessing new opportunities. We were honored to have Gilbert Uramutse, SPIU Coordinator at the Ministry of Youth and Arts, as our Guest of Honour. He commended DOT Rwanda for driving youth empowerment and the strong impact of the #DSEProgram, while challenging Digital Champions to stay disciplined, continue mentoring youth, grow businesses, and seize national opportunities. What stood out most was the program’s strong commitment to inclusion, ensuring that rural youth, young women, youth with disabilities, and refugees are not only reached but empowered to thrive in the digital economy. As this cohort graduates, their journey continues, with a clear commitment to keep supporting their communities and building sustainable livelihoods. #DOTYouth #Graduation #YouthEmpowerment #DigitalSkills #Inclusion #GeraKuNtego

  • #GeraKuNtego2026 Business Competition = Dreams in action 🔥 From showing up to leveling up, this was more than a competition, it was a powerful demonstration of what happens when young people are equipped with the right skills and opportunities. Goals were set. Skills were activated. Income is in motion. Through this competition, youth were awarded grants to scale up their necessity-driven businesses, turning resilience into growth. What stood out most was the intentional focus on inclusion, ensuring that all youth, including those young women and youth disabilities, are not only participating but thriving as entrepreneurs and contributors to the digital economy. Young. Skilled. Unstoppable. Together, we are building pathways where every young person has the opportunity to transform their potential into sustainable livelihoods. #DOTYouth #DSEProgram #Inclusion @MastercardFdn SOLVIT AFRICA @klabrw @igirerwanda @IntangoTss
