I was recently asked what defined my 2025. I'll keep this short. I'm a big digital and automation guy. Digital this, automate that. But for me, some of my most significant defining moments came from purposefully having more direct communication. People still crave hyper-personal interactions. If you can have direct conversations with 10 people rather than trying to reach thousands with a single blast, those conversations will eventually snowball as you build trust with those seeking real value. What an energizing couple of days at #DMWF Europe in Amsterdam! Across every stage, one theme was impossible to ignore: AI is everywhere, but brands are desperate for clarity, not complexity. The strongest conversations centered on making AI more useful, not more complicated. Teams want clarity on how AI can support creative workflows, improve search visibility, and guide shoppers seamlessly across channels. Here’s what stood out across two days of conversations and sessions: ✨ AI fatigue is real - Marketers want clarity and practical use cases, not more noise. ✨ Creativity still leads - Packed sessions reinforced that storytelling and brand building remain core advantages. ✨ Creator ROI is under pressure - Brands are struggling with content overload and measuring impact consistently. ✨ Decision-making is more distributed - Agencies, specialists, and fractional leaders are influencing more tech and strategy choices. ✨ Human connection matters - The most valuable conversations happened in panels and small-group discussions, proving relationships still drive action.
