  • Jessica Mauboy just launched her own indie label - and we’re powering it 💥 “This is the start of a new chapter for me - not just as a singer or performer, but as a storyteller and businesswoman too. It lets me work with people I trust and chase what lights me up.“ Jessica will perform her new single, released through Jamally, at the 2025 National Indigenous Music Awards this Saturday - where she’ll also be inducted into the NIMA’s Hall of Fame in recognition of her outstanding contribution to music and culture. A massive welcome to Matthew Rogers, our new Chief Commercial Officer for DistroDirect's parent company GYRO Group. 👏 And thanks to Billboard for making us look good. 😇 https://lnkd.in/gceF_tiC A snippet of the press release: GYRO Group, Australia’s leading digital music distribution and artist services company, today announces the appointment of Matthew Rogers as its new Chief Commercial Officer (CCO). Rogers joins GYRO Group following a distinguished 14-year tenure as Chief Operating Officer at UNIFIED Music Group, where he played a pivotal role in the company’s significant international growth. In his new role, Rogers will be instrumental in managing and driving the growth of DistroDirect, GYRO Group’s hyper-local boutique distribution and catalogue management system. With teams across six continents, DistroDirect has a global reach with over 500 micro-distributors in over 40 markets, and Rogers will be instrumental in shaping the company’s upcoming product development, accelerated growth, and market expansion. He will be driving GYRO Group’s commercial and legal strategy, supporting the CEO on new label and artist product strategies, and continuing to advocate for artists and rights holders in our rapidly evolving industry. During his time at UNIFIED, Rogers was a crucial leader in the company’s expansion from an Australia-based seven person team to, at its peak, a one hundred person global operation with staff across Australia, Europe and North America. His strategic guidance and operational leadership helped drive the international success of heavy music label UNFD and turned STL Tones into a major competitor in the audio plugins and music software space. Rogers was instrumental in UNIFIED’s early response to the 2022 Raising Their Voices report, helping implement industry leading strategies focused on mental wellbeing, safety, and workplace culture, contributing to the betterment of the industry at large. He served on the boards of the Australian Independent Record Labels Association (AIR) for over seven years and spent four years on the board of the Worldwide Independent Network (WIN), including two years as Vice President on the board's executive. Rogers' deep understanding of the independent music ecosystem and passion to advocate for artists at a local, federal and international level has resulted in him making significant contributions to the global music community. The move marks a homecoming for Rogers, who returns to a Brisbane music business nearly 20 years after relocating interstate.
