Digital transformation is reshaping economies across Latin America. To adapt and thrive, possessing digital skills is increasingly essential. A World Bank study examined the emergence, evolution, and adoption of advanced digital skills in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, and Peru using LinkedIn Skill Genome data. The study found that by the end of 2023, on average digital skills accounted for only 6% of total skills, with their largest growth observed in Chile, Colombia, and Peru. Understanding how policies affect road safety requires detailed and high-frequency data. In a World Bank study on COVID-19 curfews and road safety in Nairobi, traffic data from Waze played an important role in analyzing changes in mobility patterns. By leveraging multiple data sources, including traffic data from Waze, the analysis showed that while crashes declined during curfew hours, this reduction was offset by an increase in crashes in the hours before the curfew began, as drivers rushed to reach their destinations. This study illustrates how data can provide deeper insights into the impacts of public policies and support more informed decision-making. Find out more: https://lnkd.in/gR2drxtj
