** IMPORTANT INDUSTRY NEWS ** U.S. Customs and Border Protection has launched a new system allowing importers to apply for tariff refunds through the CAPE tool in the ACE Portal. What does this mean for our industry? For developers, contractors, and suppliers in South Florida, this is worth paying attention to. Many construction materials, including metals, fixtures, and specialty components, have been impacted by tariffs over the past few years. This new process creates an opportunity for eligible importers to recover costs tied to those duties. Important points to note: * Refunds are submitted through CBP’s ACE Portal using the new CAPE tool * Only entry numbers are required for submission * Refund timelines are estimated at 60–90 days after approval * Multiple filings are allowed, making this scalable for larger portfolios For projects in South Florida, where material sourcing, pricing, and timelines are already complex, this could have a meaningful impact on overall project costs and financial planning. #dantobuilders #southflorida #commercialconstruction #generalcontractor #construction Have a project? What a great night of connection and community impact at the FLDCP Florida Design and Construction Professionals After Hours event. Together, we raised $3,100 and collected a ton of shoes in support of Neighbors 4 Neighbors making a real difference for families in need across our community. We're excited to share one of our latest projects, the Seventh Day Adventist Church - Brazilian Temple located in Oakland Park. Check out the project progress so far with this view from the top! The scope of work includes an addition of a 3,500+ sq. ft. air-conditioned space, as well as civil and landscaping work.
